Graduate Student: I achieved an Office Assistant Certificate from BTC in 1998. The program included: basic math and English, written and oral communication, accounting, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and FrontPage, Internet research, typing and 10-key, resume writing and interviewing. I felt the program did an excellent job preparing me to start my career as an Administrative Assistant. The teachers presented clearly and answered questions. The facility was clean and functional. I used the library for research. The cafeteria was nice. BTC held Job Fairs and other events to help students get in front of potential employers before the end of the course. I was able to get a Pell Grant to cover tuition and books. College is a lot of work but this was a very hands-on and focused curriculum to get me prepared for work. I was satisfied with the outcome and am looking to go back to BTC in the near future to pursue my Associates (transfer) Degree in Business as a next step towards my Bachelors.... Read 235 reviews

Sophomore: WWCC had a plethora of supportive and communicative staff that always had my best interest in mind! However, counseling staff did get wires crossed on many occasions and it did cause a delay in credits or tuition or scholarships. Graduate Student: My overall experience with Spokane Community College has been a very positive one. I would like to share with others how Spokane Community College has been an amazing place for me to start my new beginning in life. So far, with the exception of one assistant instructor, every course and instructor has been exceptional. I have had a long road and many hurdles to overcome just to get this far. The support and kindness within Spokane Community College has been life changing. My grades are almost at a 4.0 this quarter. I will graduate at the end of the next spring quarter with my associates degree. This college has so many supportive resource such as free medical , free weight room, free counseling for mental health needs and support for addiction therapy. Freshman: Overall, my experience at YVC has been great! The professors are kind and understanding. They care about you as person, and they put you before school or anything else. It really feels like a community here. There's so much diversity at the school and it's wonderful to see. You'll be able to meet people of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, etc. Although COVID has made things difficult with being online or halfway in person, you don't get the same experience. The campus also has free tutoring, a there's always someone you can talk to or go to, to get help or ask questions. Sometimes it's hard to talk with the YVC main offices, and the communication isn't always great. However, in the long run, they help you figure out whatever you need, you may just need a little bit of patience with them.
