Alum: CMU is one of the most underrated schools in the Midwest. Living in Michigan most of my life, CMU was not one of the top schools on my mind, but after touring campus and seeing what they had to offer, I wondered why more people weren’t coming here! The campus has that big school feel, while still feeling small enough that you feel that you can be known and have an impact here. Looking back post graduation, I really wish I was more involved with on campus events! Senior: At Madonna University, I had the ability to transfer 3 years of classes from a community college. The faculty at the school made the transition seamless. The advisors and financial aid office help answer whatever questions you have and make sure you are headed down the right path. As most universities, Madonna may seem expensive. The only problem I've had is that the school has limited scholarships that you can be available for. If I could change one thing, that's the only thing I would fix. Freshman: I am an incoming freshman and so far, all of my interactions have been great! I have had many family members attend Western Michigan university and plan to be the next one to become a Bronco. Academically, Western offers the Western School of Medicine that I am interested in and plan to one day join the medical field as my mother is a Registered Nurse. Helping others is something that I am passionate about and hope that I will be an asset to the much-needed health care family. With the growing shortage of medical providers in the country and the need increasing daily I believe that Western will be able to help me to obtain my education and be an added value to the community. Sophomore: I love the professors at Schoolcraft College. They are helpful, understanding, and teach very well. The campus is small but beautiful. The classes aren't super big which is good for people with anxiety, like me. I have got close with plenty of professors and still visit them to this day. The people that go to Schoolcraft are also very sweet and quiet. I have made some really great friends at Schoolcraft that I will have forever. Freshman: They are a great college, the staff cares about you and your well being and will help you get any resource that will help you succeed. They say you are more than a number at Baker College, I didn’t believe it at first but it’s true. The professors, at least in my program (veterinary technology) are extremely passionate and want to see you succeed. Baker also throws student tailgates where free food, drinks, and other treats such as ice cream or donuts and cider are provided. They also have activity’s and raffle drawings that are free to enter! Baker is sincerely a great college. All colleges can be difficult and leave you feeling alone, overwhelmed, or extremely stressed, but Baker does everything they can to help you get through the various difficult programs they offer!... Sophomore: My experience at Northwestern community college has been fantastic, the campus is small, and the people are super friendly. I have made a lot of friends, and I've learned a lot from my professors. The campus is beautiful, and the education, at least in the audio technology program, is excellent. My only criticism would be that the cafeteria food gets a little boring later in the semester, which wouldn't be a problem if we were not required to buy a meal plan, but as a first year student on campus, it is a requirement. Freshman: I am a freshman at Eastern Michigan University, I enjoyed my first semester a lot. The beautiful campus of Eastern provides many events and clubs to join, there is never a dull moment! The library is a great place to study either alone in quiet areas or even with a group of friends. There is a variety of food choices around the campus such as going to Starbucks in the student center for a quick coffee to eating at a sushi bar in the same student center. The curriculum Eastern offers is diverse there are many different classes, online/hybrid/in-person that have great professors.
