Alum: I can not say enough great things about Ferris State University. First, the location is beautiful and the small town of Big Rapids was welcoming. The college is central to the area. It's easy enough to navigate and there is always someone around to give you directions or even recommendations to wherever you are headed next. And the school itself gives you professors that are fantastic. Most of the professors I encountered were kind and generous. So many are approachable and easy to talk with. One time in particular, I really struggled with an accounting class. It was difficult for me to understand the concepts that were discussed in the online setting, but by being able to go to the professor's in-office hours was detrimental to my passing grade. The professor only wanted to see my success and never made me feel ridiculous. Freshman: Overall, good school, friendly staff, and tutoring is always available. It's been wonderful being able to study there. I deal with disabilities and Bay College was an amazing college for me! It was close to home, and when I did have to travel it was not a far drive from Iron Mountain Campus to Escanaba Campus. Sophomore: I have been at KCC for 2 years so far, I did a full year of college my senior year of high school and earned my Emergency Medical Technician certificate before I even turned 18. Kellogg helped me navigate graduating and starting pre-reqs for nursing school. I love the staff and all of the professors at my school, they are helpful, outgoing, smart, and they teach you their knowledge better than you could ask for. I am also a part of the Kellogg Community College womens bowling team which is also a great experience, I have been competing since I was 13 but I never have felt a sense of belonging like I do on KCC's team. I would recommend KCC to everyone and anyone, they have lots of programs to choose from, lots of good financial aid offers, a great campus, great faculty, and it is a fun place to be and learn!... The campus is smaller but that makes it so much easier to make it to classes that are not in the same department. Food there is great, more of a quiet student life in my experience, but there are lots of extra curricular activities to get involved with if you want! Junior: I am so glad I enrolled in early college at Macomb Community College. I couldn’t have asked for a better college experience! There are so many aspects of Macomb that you don’t get at a lot of other colleges. In my experience all of the professors here really take interest in helping you learn the material, making sure you understand, and are doing well in the class. It’s such a nice environment on campus, everyone is friendly and you meet great people with similar interests in your classes.
