Alum: Hutchinson is a great option for those looking at earning some online credits as well as working on an associate's degree on campus. The online infrastructure through this college is robust, quality, and pretty affordable. While some areas are less equipped, the sciences department is a standout. For those looking at on-campus classes, HutchCC has done a fantastic job maintaining the physical campus and it really is a standout community college nestled in a sleepy town. The library is particularly great for a school of this size. Graduate Student: I think the social aspect of Cowley is amazing, and executed almost perfectly. Cowley is only a community college and not as big as other colleges, and definitely not as big as universities around it. BUT I will say that given that it is a smaller school, Cowley treats its students lavishly. And the way students are always given opportunities to get out into the community and experience life in a small town in Kansas. Sophomore: Ive been a student at Barton County Community College on and off for the past handful of years, and am currently a full time student in the Paramedic Program. BCCC has always being incredibly accommodating to me as a student. Particularly, the financial aid department has gone above and beyond to help me make sure everything financial is in order. Especially notable is one of the financial aid ladies bending over backwards, when I lost track of a particular scholarship, in order to make sure I had the help and coverage I needed. On multiple occasions, my teachers and instructors have helped me through class, especially when dealing with personal issues and complications. Sophomore: My first year at Butler was amazing! I met two of my bestest friends on only the first day of school! The teachers are also great. My public speaking class, which I was nervous for, turned out to be my favorite class of my whole first year! My biology professor made everything easy to understand and related the topics to our lives so we would better understand. I was also lucky enough to have the same teacher for two different classes which was really helpful since I already knew how she ran everything. The environment is small yet welcoming which makes it very easy to talk to people even as an introvert. I have also attended multiple sporting events which had high energy throughout the whole game! Sophomore: Independence Community College is a very small town college experience. The College is small, the town is small, you basically only have Walmart as your place to shop. However, it's the community that makes the town. The community offers lots to do if you know how to look for it. There is Pennsylvania Ave, where they hold the annual NEEWOLLAH Halloween event for a full week. There is also The Hub which is a Church program held in a movie theater, they offer lots of community opportunities and events to attend. The academic advisors and student academic programs are very on it when it comes to offering students help with scholarship opportunities and making sure you're signing up for the right classes and graduating. Sophomore: Washburn Tech is a great school to go for specific careers, going for only two years and saving money. Junior: If you are doing LSEC classes for the army, this college is great. The only thing that isn’t the best about Barton is that you can’t have a flexible schedule. You will have to be in class Monday-Friday unless a class says other wise (which isn’t very often). The office people are super friendly though and are very accommodating.
