Freshman: I am an incoming freshman and so far, all of my interactions have been great! I have had many family members attend Western Michigan university and plan to be the next one to become a Bronco. Academically, Western offers the Western School of Medicine that I am interested in and plan to one day join the medical field as my mother is a Registered Nurse. Helping others is something that I am passionate about and hope that I will be an asset to the much-needed health care family. With the growing shortage of medical providers in the country and the need increasing daily I believe that Western will be able to help me to obtain my education and be an added value to the community. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to provide information on Western so far as I still have a lot to learn but hope that Western will guide me through the process and have a great freshman year at collage. Alum: I can not say enough great things about Ferris State University. First, the location is beautiful and the small town of Big Rapids was welcoming. The college is central to the area. It's easy enough to navigate and there is always someone around to give you directions or even recommendations to wherever you are headed next. And the school itself gives you professors that are fantastic. Most of the professors I encountered were kind and generous. So many are approachable and easy to talk with. One time in particular, I really struggled with an accounting class. It was difficult for me to understand the concepts that were discussed in the online setting, but by being able to go to the professor's in-office hours was detrimental to my passing grade. The professor only wanted to see my success and never made me feel ridiculous. Freshman: I am a freshman at Eastern Michigan University, I enjoyed my first semester a lot. The beautiful campus of Eastern provides many events and clubs to join, there is never a dull moment! The library is a great place to study either alone in quiet areas or even with a group of friends. There is a variety of food choices around the campus such as going to Starbucks in the student center for a quick coffee to eating at a sushi bar in the same student center. The curriculum Eastern offers is diverse there are many different classes, online/hybrid/in-person that have great professors. Freshman: I love the atmosphere, all the professors are very understanding and love to talk to their students to get to know them. They want you to succeed so they will tell you to go to office hours so they can help. I love the overall school spirit like when going to football games it's just amazing to see all the people who were alumni or are parents who just want to watch the game. The campus is very easy to get around so you can't get lost. The dorms are nice I would say that they are still small but it's the perfect amount of room for yourself if you have a roommate. Overall a great college. I do wish that there were other on campus food options when our cafeteria is closed because the two food choices can be very expensive but they are very good....
