Alum: Syracuse University is medium sized American university located in upstate New York with much to offer. Best known for its sports teams, such as basketball, football and lacrosse, the best part about the school was it's diversity in activities, fields of study and student body. Though the winters are cold, the School of Architecture is ranked top 5 in the country, and the hard work from students and faculty shows. With it's deeply historical roots founded in the fundamentals of architecture, the program prepares students to think critically, develop important skills, solve creatively and curates a network of alumni to set students up for career success. The five-year program offers a variety of exciting classes and allows for students to explore outside of the school of architecture - namely taking business courses at Whitman, learning about colors, spaces and psychology or dip their toes clothing design at the fashion school. Niche User: I've committed to play ball at St Bonaventure, and everything about the recruiting process has been incredible. Freshman: The school year has just begun, but I can already say I love it! Right before school began, I got a sense of community from a peer mentor reaching out to ensure I had a smooth start to my freshman year. Getting enrolled in my classes was an easy process thanks to the staff. The campus is beautiful and has many areas available to students which is a freedom I admire. Most importantly, I feel challenged in my classes, and the professors, despite what others may think, provide a fair academic experience through informative lectures and grading. I will say, that I wish course options were more open to undergraduate freshmen. It's understandable that those who have been enrolled longer have priority over choosing courses, but it was disappointing to find out I didn't have complete freedom over my schedule.... Junior: Hello! My name is Cesia Arzu and I am a junior at SUNY Plattsburgh. This is a great college for those who want to be far from the city but want to still be in the state. This college is great overall regarding diversity, faculty, and students. My favorite part about attending Plattsburgh would be the clubs that we have and the events. The events are true to the students and are a way to connect and make new friends. One event that I absolutely loved was the Black Solidarity event that we had, there were food and conferences about the black and brown culture that you barely hear about. It was a great educational experience for those of color and those who just wanted to learn more about black and brown cultures. Something else that I love about Plattsburgh is the small community that we have here. There are people for everyone. Here at Plattsburgh, we are friendly and we love making new friends. Sophomore: Equine program is great! Make sure to find the right group of friends! Professors are mostly understanding, scheduling is tough when you don't have a good advisor. Take as many courses in high school before school and get geneds out of the way asap! Study hard and use the library you get some many free opportunities and things available. Show up to barn duty and work hard because the weaklings will be picked out. Freshman: SUNY Onondaga Community College is an exceptional and affordable well trusted school open for the community. The year of 2022 during the fall semester I was a high school senior who was apart of the early college program. Being given the amazing opportunity to take college corse classes along with getting a glimps into what college was like. Later that year I had to go back to the high school for the spring semester due to my mental health being in a not so great place. Now that time has passed I graduated June 18th, 2023 and decided to take a gap semester within this gap semester iv been going through the preparations for college. The OCC has been a wonderful help and support system they offer student many amazing opportunities for students to be successful in the academics and health. I am looking forward to becoming a OCC Lazer for the time bring until the time comes to transfer out in the future. They are a great school to start out in your academic journeys....
