Sophomore: I love UMass! The campus is gorgeous and the school of business is excellent. There is nothing quite like the dining hall. There are lots of student resources for academics and academic achievement. Anything you could ask for, you can find on campus. However, the Amherst area off campus is also delightful. There are lots of local stores and resources like Target, Walmart, Staples, and Dunkin'. You can find things you need on campus at the school store. Or you can find lots of coffee on campus as there's a Starbucks, People's Organic Coffee, and Argo tea. All students are kind and welcoming. There's so many ways to get involved on campus with clubs, athletics, or greek life. The only thing I would advise about Varsity athletics is that the program is run poorly and the athletic directors show minimal care for corrupt activity of some of the coaches, especially the field hockey coach. Freshman: I have been enjoying Worcester Polytechnic Institute to the fullest! Since WPI is quarterly, I have been able to focus on less courses at a higher pace. This type of school system gives me the ability to gain experience from many extracurriculars, which gives me the ability to learn from many people that have a lot of experience in different fields. I have also met a lot of like-minded people, as a polytechnic institute brings in a lot of people who have robotics and stem-related hobbies. Alum: I was a dual enrollment student at MCC for almost three years. I studied only virtually for my degree. It was a great experience. The staff and faculty in general were super helpful and supportive of the students. Something that could be improved is with the online classes, there’s really not much chance to get engaged with the MCC community. It’s hard to hear about new events and activities going on unless you somehow have a very close relationship with your professor. If you do happen to hear about events , programs, etc and get involved in other activities, it’s a very great learning experience and a chance to build your network. So my only suggestion for future students is if you do happen to take online courses, make sure you constantly ask classmates and professors about different opportunities available that you may be interested in. Senior: Endicott does a fantastic job with career preparation and readiness. There are several internship courses that teach students how to create resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and professional emails. Additionally, they provide resources and teach students how to find internships/jobs, make connections, and network. As a senior, I have found the internship program to be immensely helpful, and I have had experiences that will make me well prepared once I graduate. The professors are wonderful- they are willing and able to help students, and are generally supportive. One thing I would like to see change at Endicott is accessibility on campus. Endicott's campus is difficult to navigate for students with disabilities, which discourages disabled students from applying and causes very significant issues for current students. Alum: I went to Regis undergrad nursing and graduated 5.5 years ago. I had lived in campus and had a wonderful time. It is a small college but that appealed to me because I didn’t want to be in a lecture hall with 400 other people. My biggest class size was about 35 people and it was a lecture course. There was a pretty good array of extra curricular activities for those like Me that don’t do sports. I enjoyed campus ministry and in my freshman year, I was a part of the theatre troupe and put on the play Godspell. I do wish there had been more plays or musicals during my time. The biggest problem during my time there was the food. The dining hall struggled to provide good nutrition but by my senior year they had hired a new company and were making good strives to fix it. There was also a Dunkin’ on campus which was awesome and then the LSU had a grill and premade meals.
