Sophomore: My experience at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has been really great so far! The university has a lot of research opportunities, and being a psych student, has provided me with a truly enriching education. The faculty members have been great mentors, guiding me through my academic journey in psychology and inspiring me to push my boundaries and become more engaged. The campus life is great and there are many student organizations and activities that have allowed me to pursue my passions and make new friendships. Sophomore: I attend Nebraska Wesleyan and I love my experience so far with the Communications department and Women’s Soccer! They do have a lack of diversity, because of the location and the cost of the school. I think besides lack of diversity it is a good school, just pretty expensive, so make sure to get your scholarships. Junior: I have loved every second of my time at Doane. I came from out of state purely based on the opportunity to play on the women's soccer team. I was honestly preparing for the worst but was pleasantly surprised when I got to Doane. The campus community is incredibly immersive and inclusive. It feels great to have everyone on campus know you and support you! There are many organizations to get involved with on campus including greek life, which means there really is a place for every kind of student. Academics are great, small class sizes and personable professors really set you up for success. Athletics can be hit or miss depending on the sport, I have really enjoyed the soccer program but have heard negative things about the softball and volleyball teams. The food could be better and there could be more communication between the administration and students. There is also a really high turnover wait for faculty which can be concerning. Freshman: When I took my first visit, I instantly fell in love with the campus. The seasons changing from Summer to Fall, it felt like a movie how perfect it was. Meeting the facility and different professors everyone had the same positive energy, everyone was happy to be working here. My first week of college was full of events had different freshman orientation, but they weren't the stereotypical events. The event put on by Hastings College were fun, interactive, and a great was a great place to meet new people. Every student and staff seem to be very happy here and are enjoying going to class. When my first week of class began, I was at first nervous, but those nerves were quickly dismissed. The small class sizes allowed me to easily form relationships with other students and my professor.
