Junior: I love it so far. I just started in the radiologic technology program there and I was able to apply early, and the staff was very accepting and helpful with that. They provided me will all the information and handouts that I needed, the day that I asked for them, and even after office hours which I appreciate SO much. They are extremely organized and they show so much care to their students already and they’re very attentive to our needs. The instructors are very big on emphasizing that if we need academic help the doors are always open to us and I love that. Everyone there also has an amazing personality and they’re all so different and likes me in their own ways. This makes me really interested in what they have to say and makes me want to learn more. Freshman: Sheridan technical is a great school. Most of my friends have studied there and told me that the teachings at the school is very impressive. They offer certificates and degrees in various fields of studies. I am going to be majoring in Information Technologies and my advisor has been awesome. Alum: I graduated from GTC in 2010 with my associate's degree. The advisors when going in to finish my pre-reqs did not properly put me in appropriate classes based on my ACT scores so I had to test out on some once I realized I was placed wrong and lost out on that money as it was too late for a full refund at that point even though it was their error. I did not appreciate the closed mindedness of one of the psych instructors and did fail their class as our personalities did not work out and he clearly did not appreciate my input. Once in my program though, my teachers were FANTASTIC! The smaller classes made it easy for the instructors to pay attention to all students and be able to dedicate time to ensure all understood or got extra attention if needed when struggling. Junior: I have a few credits to finish up for my associate degree. So far my experiences have been very positive. The Registered Nurse Program at MATC has been what I expected. I’m sure that the networking courses get into more intense material, but networking isn’t my favorite thing. The Support program does make me want to continue my education in nursing. I think that’s a positive. When I started back at MATC, it was difficult because I’d been out of school for something like 13 years. I didn’t know exactly what to expect or how I would adapt to classes again. I can’t think of anything that would have helped me first. It was definitely time to get back in school and it has worked out well. The only change I would make to the MATC program would be scheduling, There were plenty of courses that I wanted to take in class rather than online but the scheduling wasn’t available. Niche User: I currently take dual credit classes and I went there recently to tour the campus. While the campus was well taken care of, It wasn't in the best area, but they have a 24-hour on-campus police and security section. The people there were very nice and helpful I got to speak to an admissions counselor and a finical aid advisor. The faculty was very friendly and they have lots of great resources to make sure that you thrive at the college, they have multiple free tutoring resources available online and in person. They have tons of options for your degree and they even have trade schools! Something that I noticed while taking their dual credit class is that the teachers are very helpful and willing to take time and help you, they respond to emails and texts really fast and it just seems like they actually want to succeed not just pass.
