Sophomore: Harper is a great place to get an education for a lot less money! The professors here are actually really great and I was able to speed ahead of those I went to high-school with that chose to go to a bigger university. I had not even considered Harper originally, but I am so glad I decided to go here because I took the same classes everyone else was taking for about 10x less. I have no student loan debt and I have now just graduated with an associates degree AND a personal training certification which will allow me to get a higher paying job to help pay for school once I transfer. Everyone here is very helpful and really do want to see you succeed. Going to a 2 year is not a bad thing and can actually make you better prepared for life/ transferring to a bigger college later on. I highly recommend going here, especially if classes are going to be online for the next school year!

Sophomore: I have always heard really amazing things about Oakton Community College, so when I decided to go back to school I chose to apply there. I started taking classes last summer. The process to apply was easy and the staff was very helpful and welcoming!

With COVID-19, everything started shutting down right in the middle of the semester. It was crazy, overwhelming, and scary. Oakton Community College helped and made this transition/lockdown so much easier on students. They kept the lines of communication open, by letting us know what was happening and plans to deal with whatever came next. If something didn’t work, they let us know. If it did work, they continued on that path. I am so glad I chose to attend Oakton Community College. It’s been a blessing! They’ve been a blessing!

Freshman: I love being a student at Waubonsee Community College! The professors are all very helpful and want to see you succeed. I absolutely love how great the professors and staff are at the school, I cannot stress this enough. I feel I get more out of my campus and academic experience than what I'm paying for! The campus itself is safe and has good security. However, Waubonsee is most definitely not a classical "party school." And while the college offers a variety of student activities and clubs, it doesn't necessarily have the same school spirit as a traditional 4 year school. But overall, Waubonsee is a good place to pursue your academic goals whether you're fresh out of high school or you've been out of school for a while.

Sophomore: I absolutely loved this school. As a person, who was entering college with severe didaskaleinophobia (fear of school), I couldn't have ever imagined myself sitting in a classroom. But the staff is so kind and understanding. The school offers mental health service through their wellness center. This school allowed me to work on getting over my fear while also encouraging me to do the best I could academically. My teachers always looked out for their students and did everything they could to understand their situations without being too lenient academically. They offer various clubs and programs for people to make friends and overall the school has been a safe haven. It's location is in the center of the downtown area so there is plenty options for dining and transportation. Overall this school is truly amazing both academically and with its understanding of the diverse population of students.

Senior: My experience at BC was worth the investment and much appreciated! I loved the atmosphere and the college truly desires for you to achieve your dreams. As a small college, relationships were important and everyone loved to talk about anything. Everyone is very helpful on campus. It did not have the best buildings or food but it makes up for it through the ability to feel at home. Thank you!
