Alum: The Florida Institute of Technology is an excellent private university! I loved my time at Florida Tech, and I hope to return to continue my studies in the future. FIT is perfect for those who prefer a smaller campus, a more intimate classroom environment, and approachable instructors. Florida Tech has a wonderful program for those who need accommodations due to learning disabilities; such as extra time and quiet location during testing. The Student Life and Events at FIT is great! The campus is just minutes away from the beach and only a couple hours from Orlando. There are annual scheduled trips to both Disney World and Universal Studios. Niche User: I'm in the worldwide dual enrollment program, and I finished my first course about a month ago. I took Calculus and Analytical Geometry I, and it was great! Despite my initial nervousness about the online delivery, the activities (weekly written discussions, homework, quizzes, videos on the topics, MATLAB tutorials...) didn't feel repetitive/boring. Freshman: I loved the environment and the people there made it very enjoyable. I made the cheer team this year, and when i first arrived i eas increadably scared but once i gat there everyone was very welcoming and kind. The campus is pretty small so it is easy from plae to place by walking. There are many D1 sport programs at JU, so if you like sports, or watching them there are plenty of options. They have a travel abrod program in italy wich is very cool and a lot of fun! They do have Greek life at JU and from what ive hear they are a lot of fun and is a great way to meet people and have that instant group of friends. The dorm rooms when they show you the sample one is verry small but i got a chance to look at some of the other dorms with my friends and they are in fact better then what they showed durring the tour. Sophomore: The faculty are very kind and there are plenty of things to do at the college, events that take place, and clubs to join. For instance, there is free tutoring available at all times at the library which really helps me when I'm struggling with math! Also there was an event a few days ago where you are able to donate blood so that was super neat! I got a $25 dollar gift card from it! There was also a credit union company which was allowing free sign ups and offering help to students who need help with finances. They have a program/club called Women on the Way which is free to sign up and you get benefits like free clothing and scholarship opportunities. Senior: I will be graduating May 2023. Since walking on campus freshman year the professors have been amazing. They truly care about you as an individual and want you to do well. I love the paper and presentation based learning, they are all about hands on teaching. Graduate Student: The professors were excellent! I had many that engaged with their students, always ensuring the class was on everyone's level while also going at a pace where everyone understood the assignment. The professors also weren't pushy and didn't pile up work on students, they understood we had lives to tend to and made it manageable to work with. The school and faculty themselves also were elementary and forward going, if you had a question it would be answered, and if we had opinions about something they never went unheard. The campus itself was very safe, I never had any issues of being scared to walk from the building to my car, and I made friends very quickly and connected well too. Freshman: I think Broward College gets a bad rep of being an old, stinky community college. The truth is, it is very modern and up-to-date with the best resources to help and aid their students with their specific career pathways! Sophomore: I like my college! There is a staffing shortage of professors, but most of the professors I have are very nice. Polk State offers a lot of student support via free tutoring on campus or online, a food pantry, and a good deal of financial assistance. I attend this college through a scholarship. My counselor is like my at-school mom and cares for me beyond education, but as a person. I am also a queer person and the staff have been kind and accepting of my identity. I am not involved much with student social activities, but their are always plenty of events to attend each month, no matter your interests.
