Other: I attended Owens for 4 semesters as a CCP student and really enjoyed my time there. I gathered 34 college credit hours before graduating high school and will be transferring them to a 4 year public university this fall. 26 of these credits were taken online and 8 were in person. The professors really cared and offered support, encouragement, and advice whenever they could. I loved all of my professors and met some really cool classmates. I highly recommend Cory Hoover for English courses and L. Scott Deaner for Human Geography as a general elective course. They were my favorite professors and I took 2 classes with each of them because the content was so interesting. I learned a lot during my time at Owens and met some great friends. It is definitely a different experience from public universities and there aren't a lot of student activities compared with bigger schools since the student body on campus is relatively small. Sophomore: Edison has been a great college from the moment I have arrived. The teachers have been incredibly helpful and even going out of their way to help students with issues, even if they do not correlate with the class. Freshman: Great atmosphere! Lots to do. Rock climbing, pool, basketball, and a really nice gym which is all free for students. there is also a laundry mat in both dorms and is free to use on both sides. If you sign up to work 10.5 hours a week they will take off one thousand dollars off each semester. You can choose on where you want to work and who you want to work with and it works around your schedule. If you have family visiting they can use everything as well for free all you have to do is sign up for the times. They have different events scheduled on the weekends. You can buy a meal card and use it to get your breakfast and lunch and dinner or whatever it is you want or need. The one I got is fourteen meals a week and I also brought snacks with me. In the dorms we have mini fridges with freezers so we can keep some stuff in there. Graduate Student: My experience at portage lakes was life changing. I graduated from the nursing program in 2020 and began my next journey to RN short after.
