Alum: Small college, friendly students and staff, several clubs free to join any time, after a couple semesters you feel like family with the community. The food in the cafeteria not the greatest and also expensive in my opinion for it's quality. Shoprite is walking distance to college. Tuition costs are lower than four year college. Free parking! Alum: At the time I attended and graduated, it was called UCC for short. In non abbreviated terms, Union County College. This college and their professors were fixing and truly innovating their school and uplifting to students. I really became close to many professors and I can attest, you can't find that elsewhere. This warmth made me felt how much they cared. Believe me it wasn't just their surroundings and how rich it looks but their students. Alerts from the school was majority of the time accurate, most of the professors were professional. Although, you will find some that aren't. The cafeteria is always clean the food always delicious! I enjoyed their events, the clubs and trips they offered. The only thing I would like to see change, would be the catalogs as I can remember. They had many for example as an education major. Sophomore: My experience at Passaic County Community College has been good overall. For a student that is not completely sure of what career they would like to pursue, I would recommend enrolling in a 2-year college first. PCCC has given me the accessibility on time and financially to be able to work and study at the same time. I have been able to be part of the organizations like SGA which has helped me develop communication and social skills. This organization has helped me to connect more and be involved in college activities, and also participate in outdoor activities. PCCC is very diverse, you can connect with people who share the same ethnicity and likes. Something that I would like to see change is the advisement help offered to students. Since I enrolled at PCCC, I do not know who is my advisor, I have got a guide on my degree thanks to my professors who work in the CIS department and have given me advice on the classes I should take. Sophomore: The professors are great and really want to see their students succeed. My advisor now is awesome. However, I had a horrible experience with my first advisor that suggested I take remedial classes in math even though I scored very well on my Accuplacer test. Make sure you advocate for yourself and if you're not pleased with the way you're treated, make sure you make that known through the proper channels. The workers in the financial aid office are very well informed and the workers in the business office are very kind. The librarian is amazing and will help you in any way she can. Alum: This community college is wonderful. I previously attended there and graduated and now I'm back for another degree. It's a clean, simple campus with an easy layout. The professors are wonderfully qualified and all of the staff were so kind. With admissions, the process is always streamlined. They make every process from registration to financial aid very easy to understand. I would like for them to clean the bathrooms and lunchrooms more frequently, but all the college facilities from the library to the theatre are all well kept. The education is top notch at the cheapest prices! No one can beat $99.00 per credit for any educational institution. I've had a great experience from beginning to end at this college. Alum: the school is very help , when i got to the school i didn't know much of how the diesel field work but since I've been in this school i managed to learn extremely a lot ( from how to rebuild a transmission, a diesel engine , to learn how the gears and differential operate) and they help and wont stop helping find a job (HOW CAN YOU NOT WANT TO COME TO THIS SCHOOL). Graduate Student: My overall experience with Pennco Tech was really helpful. I personally learned alot from my experience. I studied for electrical and the instructors were very helpful, touching, and lot’s of hands on experience. The downside of it though is cost, I felt it was to much for a trade school especially for 6 month program, paid 18,000 other's paid more, they do financial aid so everyone will be different.... Freshman: I am beginning my academic journey to becoming a certified automotive technician in about a week now. I've been on multiple tours of the campus and it is large enough to have a shop with room for multiple cars, and it offers a variety of choices from mechanics to manufacturing. The students wear uniforms and overall seemed like a diverse crowd and the professors I talked too were all very outgoing and are masters in their respective fields. Safety is of top priority and is taken very seriously but when you want to kick back on your breaks you can drive right down to Chick-fil-A or any of the other various stores nearby to pass the time. Freshman: Extremely Helpful staff and great program. Incredible wealth of knowledge and resources. When I first started I had no idea just how much and how detailed everything would be. By the end of the first day, I had so much confidence and knew then and there that I had made the right choice. Everyday I was more excited to learn than the day before. Each one of my teachers was completely supportive and made sure I had a complete understanding of all aspects of the lessons each day. I was overjoyed to arrive and always felt sad to leave because I just wanted to keep learning. Pretty incredible stuff. One time, I wasn't sure if I could do it and got really down on myself. I reached out to the student help department, an incredible resource. Freshman: Lincoln Tech offers three programs from Electrical, HVAC to Automechnical work and knowledge. It's a great program, although there's a lot to cover and it's not immediate hands-on action. They cover the basic concepts, simples math revolving around the trade and they may get some feeling room for the trade to be generalized. The students are determined people looking to get into their desired trade, sure there are a few hiccups, but the students get brought on track with ease. They have a food truck that sits outside of the building and it's a pay to receive deal, but the food is very good. There is a breaktime for each trade and I'm unsure what it is for each program, ill say 1:00 PM just in case it is the same. It's important to note that each instruction is different and they each have a different approach to a certain topic, there's always a learning experience no matter with whichever instructor it may be.
