Alum: Texas A&M is a great place to get an education and make friends and professional connections. The opportunities to get involved in research, service, teaching, and internships are vast! The culture is unique and friendly overall, and it is easy to find your niche and family here. People come from all over Texas and the world and enrich the campus discussions. The professors are usually organized, excellent communicators, and very willing to help students. Classes can be pretty big, so it's important to stay engaged. The dorms and apartments I have lived in (Lechner, Davis-Gary, and the Gardens) have all been spacious, well-maintained, quiet, and safe. There are several good places to dine on campus; however, it can get expensive. Parking and riding the bus can be hectic although it gets easier after the first few weeks of the semester. Freshman: Attending the University of the Incarnate Word has been such an amazing experience! My Professors have been extremely accommodating to my academic and non-academic obligations. On a few occasions, I've had to miss class or show up late, due to my work schedule conflicts. My Professors showed compassion and understanding. The staff at UIW have been helpful, as well. Whenever I need something, they go above and beyond to make things easier for me. The Academic Advisors are so compassionate and understanding and my classmates are such good people. Senior: I love Texas A&M Corpus Christi because it's such an amazing campus! What makes it so amazing is it's location. I love that it's on it's own island away from the city. The scenery on campus is what makes is great as well. It feels like a vacation with the sounds of the seagulls and the palm trees, which remind you that the beach is near if you need to relax and take a break. I also appreciate the friendly staff. All of my professors have been nothing but caring to the students in their classes. Another thing that makes campus great is the amount of floor plans there are to choose from and the places to dine on campus. If i could change one thing is if islander housing had a better management system. There were always problems with students in my building breaking things, noise, among other things, and staff just brushed it off. Another complain I have about housing is not being able to get my preferred floor plan even as a senior, as the private dorm rooms are reserved for freshmen.... Read 2,068 reviews
