Senior: My time at the University of Alabama from 2020 to 2024 was an absolute whirlwind in the best possible way. Coming from Las Vegas, Nevada, it was a complete change of scenery, first off, being a part of Greek life was a huge part of my experience. The connections I made through my sorority were incredible. But it wasn't just about Greek life; the campus itself had this electric energy. Football Saturdays were a whole different level of excitement. The buzz around Bryant-Denny Stadium was infectious, and it's an experience I'll never forget. The culture around the football games was insane—I never imagined I'd be so into it, but Roll Tide became a part of my vocabulary pretty quickly! Leaving Las Vegas for Alabama was a big shift, but it was exactly what I needed. That mix of Southern charm and the vibrant college scene gave me experiences I wouldn't trade for anything. Other: I was just accepted to attend Samford, December 1st, and I am overly excited, as this is my 1st and top choice of schools. I am a Christian and the college represented everything I'm looking for in a college. The college is only 2 hours away from my primary home, which is great! Junior: It has been good! There are a lot of opportunities available for students. I attend one of the extended campuses and there is not a lot offered there. However, the main campus does a great job at keeping their extended campuses informed with events at the main campus. In addition, I remind myself of the convenience of not having to commute, it still provides a way for me to get the education I want which I am thankful for. It has allowed me to continue working full-time and being a full-time student. Plus, the small campus has its perks of frequently seeing familiar faces. Junior: The professors here at UM are amazing! The class sizes are small so professors get to know their students on a personal basis. They genuinely want to see each of their students succeed. As a student-athlete, professors also work with me whenever I have to miss class for games. The university is amazing at getting students plugged in and equipping students with what they need to succeed. We have many study resources and even have a peer review center where papers can be proofread. There are always events happening on campus for students to meet other students.
