Senior: I LOVE Temple University! Most of my professors have been nice, fair, knowledgeable and even passionate about what they teach. Temple has a gym on campus, which offers group fitness classes including yoga, cycling, and meditation, included in tuition fees. The healthcare I received on campus has always been stellar. The Disability Resource Services offered have been stellar, and the 24-hour TECH Center is a pleasure to spend days in while studying and working on projects. Temple has an app now where you can request a chaperoned walk home in person or virtually, as well as a nightly shuttle that circulates around the edges of campus for those in off-campus housing. Our Marching Band was one of my favorite extra curriculars offering an annual stipend when you join and you get to perform synchronized dances to pop songs at home games on Philly Eagles turf at the LINC. Sophomore: Due to merging of a former college that I’ve been accepted to, there has been a lack of management and coordination in a lot of departments. The staff and instructors are awesome and try their best to manage with the situations. It’s slowly getting there and improvements have been coming along pretty noticeably, but it still needs more time and work. Considering the fact that they are operating multiple campuses, the only suggestion I would have is to try to integrate them together. Majority of the major events take place at the major campus and there is a lack of convenient transport between campuses. There can be some major improvements there is foster inclusivity and cooperation from everyone. Senior: Be a part of a family that knows and cares about you and your future, HFU, you belong here! A catholic private university found right in northeast Philadelphia, with one of the safest neighborhoods and approachable professors due to smaller class size that really helps with building networks and establishing connections even after graduation. A family-like institution where you get help when asked and get to enjoy year-round events and free giveaways. If you want to avoid too much money in tuition and expenses, HFU is just the right place with up to 22k merit scholarships awarded as freshmen along with named scholarships once completed a semester and get consisdred for the help for the number of years you attend.... Sophomore: Cheyney University is a great small HBCU college that focuses on getting its students ready for life after college. It’s campus is very safe and historical, being that it’s the first HBCU in the United States of America. Cheyney itself has many pros, but some cons of the university is that there are some poor professors, lack of a variety of food when it comes to people who don’t eat meat, problems with the dorms and housing units and not so great sports teams (their football team was also cut, so this would not be a great school for football players).... Sophomore: I’ve enjoyed how professors have encouraged me to explore outside of my comfort zone. Critiquing my work in a serious manner but at the same time, their feedback includes manners to improve the work and reasons why such changes need to be made. Setting up projects to make us think quickly, while taking our time to perfect the final product. Preparing students for how the world will expect us to work with similar projects. I would like to see the communication between the people in leadership roles of the school and students be improved. Although this is my second year, I’ve heard from fellow classmates of instances where important events or information was not given to them. Or asking for accommodations to the school going unheard, such as not having enough space for returning students. Concerned students attempting to make claims to future plans for the school not involving or addressing the issue of not having enough space for both returning and new incoming students....
