Sophomore: Yale has been a fun and enjoyable experience overall. I would definitely choose Yale again if I had to re-do my college application. Academics: some departments are better taught than other departments. Yale can be weaker in CS and Math compared to other universities, but most alums are still very successful. Like most colleges, there is a lot of independent learning and there are numerous resources to help you. The environment is not competitive unless premed. Social life: Yale has an AMAZING social life compared to other universities of equal caliber. There is always something going on and you can be as social as you want. Social life is nonexistent during midterm season. There are parties, frats, concerts, woads, club formals, and many other events. Sophomore: Having just finished my first year at Wesleyan I can definitely see why this place is so highly rated. By far my favorite thing about this place are the people I've met from professors to students to alumni. I just think this place attracts a type of person who is passionate and interesting and I think that's why I'm in college in the first place. For Brown Rejects: The university is expensive, and as you pay a flat rate and cannot switch classes around easily the experience can feel claustrophobic or rather limiting if you're among the MOST driven students; but O! to be in the middle 50 here; you will stumble into incredible classes with awesome professors and interesting students who will keep you engaged in the material and the work is manageable, club scene is a blast, music is great, alright nightlife, and great senior housing.... Freshman: I like the vast spectrum of extracurricular activities such as clubs and sports. There's a lot of fun things to do. I myself am in a few organizations, and I've enjoyed my stay here so far! I also like the medical programs they have to prepare you if you're a pre-med student. There are a lot of majors that tailor towards medicine, and they have a lot of resources you can go to. I will say the only real problems I've had are with dorming. It gets really hot in the summer, and you're not allowed to bring an air conditioner unless you have a medical condition which can be troublesome. Junior: I have had a fantastic experience at Fairfield university! I love the community here and how friendly everyone is. It is super easy to make friends in classes and during clubs and activities. It is really nice to be able to make meaningful connections with professors with the small class sizes and Fairfield guarantees an internship during your four years so that is a nice perk. I genuinely love the energy and people here as well as the location. Being so close to the beach is awesome and the downtown area is super safe. Junior: I am currently a Junior at Southern Connecticut State University, where I am studying Elementary Education as well as a Division II athlete on the Women's Lacrosse Team. The atmosphere and structure of the school provides me with a great education as well as college experience. My experience with academics has been amazing. My professors push me to my highest potential and make sure that I am set up for success. Being a student athlete can be hard at times, but Southern does an amazing job making sure all students are comfortable and supported through every step of the way in the college experience. Sophomore: I’m currently in my second semester of sophomore year and after completing all of my academic courses, I’m finally able to start working towards my illustration major and animation minor. In my freshman year alone, I’ve noticed just how much my art has improved! I’ve learned to pay attention to lighting in a 3D space and how to correct my proportions when it comes to drawing anatomy. I’m focusing on character design for video games and animated movies, and the Hartford Art School offers so many introduction courses that helps to introduce the subject in a matter that’s not overwhelming. I’ve already taken Drawing 1, Intro to Animation, Drawing 2 and an Intro to Illustration, which all align with my major.
