Sophomore: PVCC is a great school to start your college journey. The classes are affordable, the campus is easy to navigate, and the professors are usually pretty great. My last two semesters there were a bit confusing and I was having difficulty figuring out what classes I needed to sign up for so that I could properly transfer my credits to the graduate school I chose. Junior: My time at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee started with my freshman year in the height of the pandemic. Alum: This is a fantastic community college! Classes are very affordable compared to larger colleges, and if you don't have the funds to pay for tuition at the beginning of the semester, the Financial Aid office will help you find a solution. Furthermore, RRCC offers a wide variety of online, in-person, or hybrid classes to suit your schedule, and most of them are guaranteed to transfer to other colleges in Colorado. The professors are very supportive and want you to succeed with your academic goals. Plus, I prefer the small class sizes here over the larger, more intimidating classes at state universities. Also, it has great facilities and resources including a brand new student rec center, an IDEA lab to introduce students to engineering, the Arvada campus dedicated to the health sciences, a bookstore, and a coffee shop. Graduate Student: I achieved an Office Assistant Certificate from BTC in 1998. The program included: basic math and English, written and oral communication, accounting, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and FrontPage, Internet research, typing and 10-key, resume writing and interviewing. I felt the program did an excellent job preparing me to start my career as an Administrative Assistant. The teachers presented clearly and answered questions. The facility was clean and functional. I used the library for research. The cafeteria was nice. BTC held Job Fairs and other events to help students get in front of potential employers before the end of the course. I was able to get a Pell Grant to cover tuition and books. College is a lot of work but this was a very hands-on and focused curriculum to get me prepared for work. Alum: SO many resources because of state funding & donors, allowing non-traditional students the extra support they need.
