Sophomore: Cal Poly SLO has an excellent academic program. This college strives for "Learn By Doing" and is seen within every major. Students are expected to learn hands-on in their field of choice. For example, for animal science majors there are fields of land where horses, cows, pigs, and more live. This is for the purpose of undergrads to gain experience. Cal Poly has well has a preschool located in front of the library to support students who have an interest in education. Child development majors participate in this preschool by being an observer and staff to the children. The preschool not only is able to make the "Learn By Doing" slogan true but as well brings in citizens to the school. Thus creating a closer community. The location of Cal Poly is beautiful as well. Freshman: I really love how Butte college cares not only about its students, but also the environment. I have met so many teachers and faculty there that are really excited to help their students succeed in life and what they are passionate about! There are also many environment conscious choices around campus, such as carpool spaces, a bus system, and solar panels! Butte also did a lot to help students through the pandemic with additional grants and other forms of help. Sophomore: Easy to register, easy to enroll for classes and easy to access a counselor. The dashboard is easy to use when doing online courses. The programs and professors are very well qualified. Staff is very friendly when we need to speak to admissions, financial aid or business office. I completed my health care interpreting program back in May 2021. Now I am studying American Sign Language. This college has amazing majors and it is so easy to get through an education at this campus, whether its in person or online. Reedley College includes a Reedley Middle College program for students that want to get ready for college. This campus is very well structured with student's needs. It also includes support for disabled students that want to pursue their education. I am also proud of my college, because it includes an Adult Transition Program that helps kids obtain their diploma after completing a certificate in high school. Freshman: While I’m only a freshman, and have only been on campus for a few weeks now, but there is already so much the campus has done for me to achieve my academic goals. The campus is filled with wonderful teachers that strive to empower their students, and the tutoring center is a great way get any extra help in any particular area of study. And it’s free! Sophomore: College of the Sequoias is easily one of the best community colleges in the central valley! I love how many campuses, from Hanford, Visalia, to Tulare, there's a diversity of people and classes. The campus is always big and well taken care of. The professors take care of their rooms with so much care and love. I love how invested professors are to their students, even during covid I was able to reach out to my professors a lot an they seemed to care so much about me and my education. Sophomore: The professors at MJC are fantastic! They want to help you succeed and do everything in their power to assist. They are very encouraging and guide students to create good study habits. The West Campus is very nice and well maintained. The atmosphere there is relaxing and motivating. Everybody there is nice and helpful for those who need it. Freshman: As a first generation college student , my experience is very good. I was always hesitant on starting college and I did Put it off for a few years after I graduated in 2019. Freshman: I recently started at Bakersfield College after being out of school for 20 years. To say I was nervous to return to college would be a huge understatement. On my first day on campus, I immediately felt welcome. Student services and staff were set up at tents welcoming new and returning students to the campus. The enrollment process and every other facilitator or staff member have been beyond helpful. They make the process very easy. The amount of opportunities are endless. The school has a strong athletics department and they are proud of their accomplishments.
