Junior: NDSU is a great campus because it's not too big, but it's also not too small. It feels like the perfect size. I also think the campus is beautiful in terms of its scenery and architecture. There are some beautiful old buildings that have been kept in good condition without being totally refurbished. The professors at this school are amazing as well. They really seem to care about each student's success and they are actually quite informal a lot of times. I've had several professors whom I know on a first-name basis. Junior: My experience with Mayville has been unique because I am an online student who is not located in North Dakota. Most of my classes and professors have been excellent and I have learned a lot through my courses. Administratively, there have been some set-backs and issues. I found Mayville while searching online programs since I'm the primary care taker of my two daughters an work part-time, so I needed flexibility and a great program. Mayville showed up as one of the best online programs out there. While I do think the professors are exceptional, I would love if they updated their program to be more flexible for solely online students and especially students that are not located in ND. Freshman: Lake Region State College has a moto of changing lives. They are 100 percent true to that statement as I have only been here for a small number of weeks, my life is already improved. The small class sizes makes the environment outstandingly comforting as an incoming freshman. This school does not fail to make you feel cared for and taken care of. This is the type of school where teachers remember your name after the first day and say hello in the hallways. I am the type of student that requires one on one attention to be able to complete the task given to me and this is exactly what I am receiving at Lake Region. I am apart of the softball team as well and it is nothing less than a family. The coaching staff resembles a parental figure. I am only three weeks into my two-year long adventure with Lake Region and I am already loving it. I am an international student who came down from Canada, the process was made very easy. Junior: I love the close knit experiences that the university provides everyday. Teachers care about their students and will provide one on one instruction of needed. Games and actives are hosted all around campus pretty often and gets students to build relationships with each-other and earn chances at prizes. Media is posted often to keep students in the loop and attending events. It also gives something for the public to follow too if there are athletics to attend. Being in a sports team, my teachers are very receptive to meets and dates that I am not able to attend class. Every class is recorded and able to be accessed even after class is over. It makes it nice if you have to go back and take notes or if you are on the road. Our president makes him self present at every event I’ve seen and is a big supporter of the students here. Freshman: I really like Dakota College at Bottineau. The staff are very friendly and are willing to help when you need assistance. In my previous class, I needed tech support and they were ready and willing to help me solve my technical problem. The instructors were there to help me with any questions I had and even made up some practice sheets for a class I was in for extra practice. I did all online classes. The only issue I had was I wish there were video lectures to help me understand what concepts I needed to learn.
