Freshman: This college has a fun and lively campus with copious amounts of clubs, athletic opportunities, and areas to explore. The student body contains some of the kindest people I've ever met. The campus itself is very accessible for people with disabilities, and the bus system is perfect for whether you are traveling on or off campus. there's a huge promotion of wellness all across campus, making the environment feel very hospitable. In terms of my major, graphic design, all of the professors I've had are some of the most brilliant artists I've ever met. My peers and I all agree that we have learned such a large amount of new art concepts in what feels like a brief amount of time. This school also contains a massive art museum on campus which boasts many different styles of painting, sculpture, etc. As I graphic design major, I would say that UIUC is a wonderful school to attend and take the first steps into adulthood!... Freshman: I've been attending Sauk for about two months and have really enjoyed my time there. The staff and employees are very nice and always ensure their students get the best education possible. There are many resources and areas for students to use. They have nice students hang out to allow students to do their work at school, and plenty of help resources for any circumstance. Sophomore: I think John Wood Community College is the nicest most well-put-together community college I've ever seen. Besides the fact that the campus is incredibly beautiful and clean, the education here has no comparison to other 2-year colleges. 99% of all instructors I've had I've enjoyed, mostly because I can tell they're all super passionate about the subject they teach. In particular, the philosophy classes are just enthralling. Matt Carey is the best instructor I've ever had and opened my eyes to my love of philosophy. I'm considering minoring in philosophy because of how wonderful those classes are. The staff here that are not instructors are always so passionate and helpful, always being able to help no matter the problem. It is incredibly cost-effective and there are so many scholarships available that a lot of students I know go here for free. I recommend this college to anyone who asks. Junior: Going to college at SIUC has been so wonderful. The beauty that Southern Illinois has to offer really sealed the deal for me, I enjoy hiking on the weekends and whenever I need a good study break. SIU really has been great to me. They're very considerate and have been very understanding when I reached out for help. There's tons of fun events that the school holds which includes free food and t-shirts which is super fun. My only complaint is that the parking division is rude and hands out tickets left and right, but I think every University is like that. It has been so fun to go to school here and enjoying the beautiful campus and events the school holds. I really appreciate the scholarships that SIU gives out, they're very generous with both scholarships and grants. The dorms are great and the food at the dining hall is actually amazing. Senior: Spoon River College is such a supportive and resourceful college to attend. Spoon is just the type of school that really wants to see you succeed and helps make sure that you succeed. Sophomore: I've had a really positive experience attending Danville Area Community College. I began taking classes when I was a sophomore in high school. The courses I have taken, satisfied both the high school requirements as well as college requirements. When I graduated high school, I already had 55 college hours. This allowed me to attend DACC one more year before transferring to a 4-year college. This in-turn will help to keep the college cost down for me. The teachers I have had have been really supportive. Senior: Illinois college has become my home away from home, and also has been a place of great growth for me over my 4 years. I have grown both as an individual and as a student. I feel prepared for my future career as a Dentist and Class in Dental School because of the course work level and the amount of effort put in by my professors. Additionally, our campus always has something going on for students, from Student Involvement Center sponsored events to sports events, and Res-life events throughout the week there is always something to do! Additionally, our academics are top notch. During my time at IC I have been an Honors Scholar and participated in Student-Faculty Research looking at Dental Malocclusion. These opportunities would have been so challenging or impossible to get at a larger school. Sophomore: Kaskaskia college was an amazing college to attend and had many good qualities. Kaskaskia college is one of the cheapest 2 years colleges you can attend with high overall graduate rates. Kaskasia's value is about 6,000 per year unless you get a scholarship, which most students get. Kaskaskia has an amazing music program that is not only cheaper, but has many opportunities involved as well. This previous year all choir members got to attend a first ever recording of an english version of Beethoven's ninth at the school of music, SIUC Carbondale. The teachers at Kaskaskoa college are also extraordinary. They are all kind, patient, and very gifted at what they do. Kaskaskia is a wonderful college for both cost and quality.
