Sophomore: Cal Poly SLO has an excellent academic program. This college strives for "Learn By Doing" and is seen within every major. Students are expected to learn hands-on in their field of choice. For example, for animal science majors there are fields of land where horses, cows, pigs, and more live. This is for the purpose of undergrads to gain experience. Cal Poly has well has a preschool located in front of the library to support students who have an interest in education. Child development majors participate in this preschool by being an observer and staff to the children. The preschool not only is able to make the "Learn By Doing" slogan true but as well brings in citizens to the school. Thus creating a closer community. The location of Cal Poly is beautiful as well. Junior: I love the professors and the staff! The facilities are maintained and are being updated, and any new construction is there to benefit the students and staff. They are very protective of their students and staff and everyone is treated well. There’s resources for anyone and they genuinely do want to see everyone’s success. One thing I would like to see changed is the hours the administration, cafeteria, library, and student store remain open until. Junior: I love Santa Rosa Junior College! From the beginning, I immediately fell in love with the small classroom setting, the one on one help and the connection you develop with your teacher due to the class size. I admire the campus life, and have found a loving community that I can be a part of. I truly love SRJC for making all of their services easily available and allowing everyone from all backgrounds to get an education with the low cost of classes. Their library is open most hours of the day for easy studying and have computer chargers at every table. They hold fresh farmers markets almost every week for their students to come by, and provide snacks during finals weeks. I admire this school for being so great and allowing me to better myself and grow mentally. The only thing that I would change about the Santa Rosa Junior College would be more unperson classes. Sophomore: I loved the stem tutoring center and the free snacks available in the cafeteria. Staff including library and especially professors are very helpful and kind. You definitely have to advocate for yourself but I’m sure you do at other community colleges and universities. There aren’t many sports but there’s a ton of clubs to choose from. There are many other programs at miracosta such as accommodations for student learning, an honors society, transfer center and more. The counselors are great and are really helpful with financial aid, picking classes, and scholarships. I have definitely learned a lot and am excited to learn more going into my second year. Sophomore: Easy to register, easy to enroll for classes and easy to access a counselor. The dashboard is easy to use when doing online courses. The programs and professors are very well qualified. Staff is very friendly when we need to speak to admissions, financial aid or business office. I completed my health care interpreting program back in May 2021. Now I am studying American Sign Language. This college has amazing majors and it is so easy to get through an education at this campus, whether its in person or online. Reedley College includes a Reedley Middle College program for students that want to get ready for college. This campus is very well structured with student's needs. It also includes support for disabled students that want to pursue their education. I am also proud of my college, because it includes an Adult Transition Program that helps kids obtain their diploma after completing a certificate in high school. Junior: I’ve been at Cuyamaca for around 3 years now and it’s been great! The professors are amazing and many help a lot by providing their time to work through anything you’re struggling with in the class. The campus is great and they just did some renovations so the new buildings are really nice. The environment is very welcoming and open to help you out and give you insight to the next part of your journey, like transferring. There are many programs and clubs you can join in order to be part of the student life at Cuyamaca. I have also been to the Grossmont campus, and the professors there are amazing. Cuyamaca and Grossmont are sister schools so taking classes on both campuses is really common. I do enjoy taking classes at Cuyamaca because it’s very lively and they have so much to offer in their campus and the staff is really caring. Sophomore: Anyone considering MSJC should keep this in mind: you will get back what you put in. MSJC can be a really boring and uneventful attendance, or a really useful and beneficial one if you get to know the people and know all the resources. Though, I think the biggest problem is simply the lack of not being given information at the right time. Especially for someone just out of high school, figuring out how to use the different MSJC websites and what classes to take for specific goals you have can be really difficult, so you should research extensively. Additionally, meet with/schedule an appointment with a counselor on Cranium Cafe! That being said, I am grateful for the classes and education here. The Honors Program has helped me reach better classes, so I do feel prepared for going to a 4-year, after Spring 2024. Lastly, I have only attended the SJ Campus, so I can't speak on how Menifee or Temecula is like. It has been a nice place, but always worried about safety at night.... Read 976 reviews

Sophomore: Napa Valley College is a good community college. It has some excellent professors, especially in the harder sciences. Counselors are okay. There is one from EOPS that I really liked and provided me with excellent guidance. In addition, some new clubs have been established. In particular, I appreciate the MESA stem center.
