Alum: I graduated from CMU back in 2000, but I think now that I'm removed from my time as a student I have a little different perspective. Not only did I LOVE my time as a student because of the social life, the people and everything to do on-campus and in Mount Pleasant, but looking back I can see how my education completely changed my future. I've changed careers a couple times, and the things I learned at CMU have allowed me to quickly move up the ladder in each of those fields. Freshman: I am a Freshman at Spring Arbor University and so far I have had a really positive experience. I love the small community. I have created friendships with students and basketball players that I believe will last a lifetime. The classrooms are smaller so I am able to have more one on one time with the professors. The professors go out of their way to help. Many have provided their cell numbers so that they are available any time to help me succeed. Each of the professors here are so wise and knowledgeable about their majors. They really care about their students and it shows in their eagerness to get to know them - in and out of the classroom. The faith perspective of learning is amazing, and helps each student to grow in their walk with the Lord as they are learning about the topics of their major. I am enjoying being a student athlete. Freshman: I am an incoming freshman and so far, all of my interactions have been great! I have had many family members attend Western Michigan university and plan to be the next one to become a Bronco. Academically, Western offers the Western School of Medicine that I am interested in and plan to one day join the medical field as my mother is a Registered Nurse. Helping others is something that I am passionate about and hope that I will be an asset to the much-needed health care family. With the growing shortage of medical providers in the country and the need increasing daily I believe that Western will be able to help me to obtain my education and be an added value to the community. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to provide information on Western so far as I still have a lot to learn but hope that Western will guide me through the process and have a great freshman year at collage. Junior: Overall, Northwood University has been a true blessing and a hidden gem that I am grateful to have found. I am very involved at Northwood University with our International Auto Show, Fashion Showcase, American Marketing Association Chapter, National Society of Leadership and Success, and DECA. I appreciate being a full-time student at Northwood University because of how I am known there as a name rather than a number. All of my professors greet me by name and answer any and all of my questions that I may have. If there were any changes that I would like to be seen made, it would be to increase the number of students that attend the university. I want more college students to be able to experience this business school and receive that "greeted-by-name" feeling as they walk onto the campus environment. Alum: I can not say enough great things about Ferris State University. First, the location is beautiful and the small town of Big Rapids was welcoming. The college is central to the area. It's easy enough to navigate and there is always someone around to give you directions or even recommendations to wherever you are headed next. And the school itself gives you professors that are fantastic. Most of the professors I encountered were kind and generous. So many are approachable and easy to talk with. One time in particular, I really struggled with an accounting class. It was difficult for me to understand the concepts that were discussed in the online setting, but by being able to go to the professor's in-office hours was detrimental to my passing grade. The professor only wanted to see my success and never made me feel ridiculous.
