Sophomore: I truly believe there is a place for everyone at UConn. I know that everyone goes into college with different hopes and expectations, and UConn has so much to offer to achieve all of them. From academics, to social life, you’ll find whatever you look for at UConn. Sports fans have multiple events to look forward to during the week and there are constantly student organized events occurring across campus that make college life more enjoyable and exciting. The campus is quite large, and sometimes it may be a hike from class to class, however, the nature and the views along the way make it worth it. There are many spots on campus that offer beautiful views of the sunset, and those who enjoy the outdoors have many places where they can sunbathe when the weather is nice or do homework under the shade of a big tree. Graduate Student: Housatonic is a great community oriented school. I decided to go there to complete my pre-requisite for Dental Hygiene and all of my credits were transfers. I love the campus and professor so much that decided to complete my associates degree and Health Science certification. Professor are great and the tactics they use to teach you complex concepts, especially in the science field, I can say that have stuck with me until this day where I am completing my undergrad degree. This is a school that constantly recommend this school to coworkers and fellow church members when they decide to embark into their college career. Sophomore: I’m currently in my second semester of sophomore year and after completing all of my academic courses, I’m finally able to start working towards my illustration major and animation minor. In my freshman year alone, I’ve noticed just how much my art has improved! I’ve learned to pay attention to lighting in a 3D space and how to correct my proportions when it comes to drawing anatomy. I’m focusing on character design for video games and animated movies, and the Hartford Art School offers so many introduction courses that helps to introduce the subject in a matter that’s not overwhelming. I’ve already taken Drawing 1, Intro to Animation, Drawing 2 and an Intro to Illustration, which all align with my major. I love that despite having required classes, the school still offers courses to give you a taste of the different majors that they offer.
