Freshman: I feel like this is a good opportunity to go back to College at Central Louisiana College. I am in interested in the H-vac and refrigeration degree. The professor seems to be knowledgeable and nice. This is a Technical degree which can help me get a good paying job after I graduate and it's hands on and not just not all classroom. I will be able to live at home, work part time and still pursue this degree with out the added price of living on a campus. Hopefully this degree will open up endless job opportunities not only within my state of Louisiana but also, out of state jobs if I wish. I like the idea of being able to go to a Technical college without the big college price. For the town of Alexandria there isn't alot to offer as far as job opportunities with out some sort of degree. I want to be able to work part time in the H-vac while I attend school. Sophomore: So far, my experience at Northwestern Stare University has been great! The classes are smaller than other public universities, and my professors know me by name and are happy to help students if they struggle in a particular subject. The faculty at NSU wants every student to succeed, so they all make sure to get the students in the classes that they need to graduate by helping with scheduling. There are also so many opportunities to get involved on campus- there is something for everyone. Campus involvement also provides an opportunity for scholarships, which is amazing! Academically, there isn’t anything I would like to be changed, but there is one thing that needs to be considered: the roads. They are very bumpy and a lot of the commuters and others who drive on campus have popped tires and damaged their vehicles because of the roads. Sophomore: I enrolled at South Louisiana Community College in 2021. My experience at the school has been mostly positive. Alum: I am a graduate of Xavier university of Louisiana, i graduated in spring of 2021 and honestly your time at Xavier is what you make it. I was a biology pre-med major and that track is not the easiest track to follow. The classes require a lot of time and focus. However the professor and your peers are there to help, go to the resource centers if you need help. The cafe decibels has good food on Wednesday and fridays those were my favorite days. The activities and student life on campus is 10/10 you have to get out of your dorm and meet people. Xavier focuses heavily on community service and has plenty of service opportunities. Our athletics is a pretty good program I was about of Gold Star Dance team and had a blast. All of our games are always heavily supported by our students. Junior: I transferred to Delgado from a bigger four-year college and realized that I wish I would've came to Delgado sooner. Delgado is a better fit for me because I can go to school and do online classes all while still being able to live at home and work for my money. The professors really want you to learn and succeed. The only thing that I would change would be making it easier to get in touch quickly with the faculty at the school. Junior: My experience at ITI was awesome! I was a person going into this type of program with very little knowledge. My professors all helped me with getting around the school, answering questions about certain topics, and also taking that one on one time during their break hours to help with homework.
