Freshman: There’s many thing to love to about St. Philip’s College! From the people, experience, studies, student life, and outside of St. Philip’s Campus. There is many people from many cultures and places that is meant to be for everyone. The studies aren’t as wide but are for those who need a degree in a year or two to work. Including the great opportunities like CNA, Cyber security, and mechanic jobs. Including possible certification after the degree plan. The student life page and alerts provide great details about events that will take place in campus, zoom, and other opportunities for college or jobs. My most favorite event is culture feast which is full of foods, people from the college or around town, and can be a called a small San Antonio experience in one place. Freshman: Attending the University of the Incarnate Word has been such an amazing experience! My Professors have been extremely accommodating to my academic and non-academic obligations. On a few occasions, I've had to miss class or show up late, due to my work schedule conflicts. My Professors showed compassion and understanding. The staff at UIW have been helpful, as well. Niche User: Northwest Vista is an incredible college with a beautiful campus. There are some really incredible professors employed at Northwest Vista College. In particular, Robert DiGiovanni was an excellent professor who made himself available by phone via call or text! He had excellent pre-recorded videos prior (many years prior) to covid. His methodologies of working through problems were superb. I think that he is reflective of most of the professors I had at Northwest Vista College. The great thing about Northwest Vista college is that it is one of five other 2 year universities within the Alamo Colleges umbrella. This means that you have a massive selection of professors, as well as online options. The prices of courses within the Alamo Colleges system are outstanding. Freshman: The University of San Antonio is the perfect "in-between" school. UTSA has the big school feel that most graduating seniors desire when searching for colleges to attend. At the same time, the school isn't SO big that the classrooms are too big for the professors to even know their students. With my experience at UTSA, all of my classes were a pretty decent size yet the professors could pick out students and remember their names pretty easily. Due to this fact, the retaining information, learning, and the education system there overall was great. Being able to learn here has been very easy for me and fun. Not only is the education and campus ideal, but the student life is also a big factor with this school. All the students seem to participate in all school activities and are huge supporters of the athletics. They are also all very welcoming and nice to all the new students! Freshman: It is very diverse and has a great community which I feel comfortable with. The teachers are very helpful and always available when needed. Student life is also always present; overall, the school is perfect for people starting their education. Multiple schools and community events help students get closer to school life and its surrounding areas. The campus is always clean and organized which gives it a beautiful status. It is very open on the outside which gives students a great place to study while being surrounded by trees, bird noises, and fresh air. The classrooms are also always spacious and organized, making learning easier. The campus also has multiple programs that get their places around campus. Sophomore: I enrolled into San Antonio College as a new start to a new city. I gained my prerequisites prior to transferring, and enjoyed all of the instructors who have taught me thus far. Sophomore: I definitely enjoyed my learning experience at Galen, I however am not a big fan of their financial aid department or the cost of the education. The price for what you are receiving is absolutely not in line with each other. I transferred from another university, and they quickly denied most of my transfer credits which were all A+ grades. I found this to be a money grabbing technique. Most of the staff is very helpful and responsive to students. This is a college meant to streamline the process to get your BSN, ADN or LVN, not necessarily meant for having fun or a big sense of community. Alum: I came here to obtain my Associates Degree in 2018. This is one of the best continuing education schools I have been to. Very helpful staff, from the front desk, admissions, financial aid and the instructors. Being able to do blended learning is amazing from some on campus classes to online classes everything flowed so smoothly. I graduated in 2019 because I had credits that transferred from my old school. I loved it so much here that I have signed up to obtain my Bachelors Degree which is fully online. Senior: The experience here was great! For my first time learning the medical field specifically for medical Assistant was just amazing. I had the best instructors and awesome classmates. The admin and financial aid were always so helpful and I couldn’t have done it without their support even when I had surgery close to the end of my program they helped me and checked on me to make sure I was doing okay because I wanted to keep pushing to finish.
