Freshman: Kapiolani is different than your regular community college because they're focused more on you as a student. I really liked it because they offer tutoring resources during set times at the library. In addition to that, their goal is to ultimately have you transfer over to a 4-year university, in order to do that they lay out an academic plan for you as you choose your classes with your goal in mind so that you can make the optimal decision for your future. The campus is clean, safe and offers a gorgeous view of the ocean. The professors are great and are willing to have personal time in order to help you. The only thing that I would recommend changing is the way you register for classes as sometimes the website can be a headache, it has bugged out on me a few times saying that I had a hold on my account which resulted me in having to call support multiple times. Freshman: I love Honolulu Community College. The environment and space are welcoming, effective and also efficient. There's library's, multiple work-study spaces, an amazing cafeteria. A place where you are able to learn and to always be stress-free. One thing I'd necessarily change is guidance through school. Although they do have staff available to help with questions, concerns. But I am currently enrolled, and I was never taught about taxes, school debt, school loans. I'm currently learning about these important things and I'm facing struggles because I didn't receive any financial aid so I'm applying for scholarships, any kind of help I can get.... Freshman: My first semester at Chaminade University of Honolulu has been a positive one! I have learned so much more than when I was attending a local community college. I loved how easy it was to use the online platform. Finding assignments and the organization of the assignments was easy to follow and navigate. Teacher feedback was helpful, and I was given lots of guidance. The one thing that I wish would change was the cost. It is a very costly school, and I am not sure I can continue attending because I just can't afford it. Although the amount per credit hour is less than attending full-time in person, it is still very costly. I would like to see that 3 credits cost $585 and not 1 credit costs $585. Freshman: Although I have only experienced my first semester of freshman year, the standards of this college have met my peaceful expectations and have been since I have marked my interest in middle school. Their environment and structures have simple, yet elegant beauty with intelligent staff who are extremely supportive towards each other and the students. Personally, the institution is highly convenient for me in both travel and tuition, compared to all other universities on the island. (And although the college is cheaper, their food is plenty, diverse, and very delectable!) I also strongly appreciate their charm in the arts and science degrees as I, myself, am an artist! Freshman: I love the online class, and the teachers! I finally got the weekly discussions, homework and exams down as far as due dates. It has been good for me so far and love it. Got a few more months ahead before completion so I honestly can't wait! It has been an exciting journey for me learning the Healthcare Administration. Looking forward to learning the ICD-10 and coding part in a few months ahead. My whole goal in doing a career change is since covid, I was looking for working hybrid and being able to work from home to be safe. I take care of my elderly mom who needs care at all times. Between myself and 4 other siblings, we each have a part in taking care of our mother and it has not been easy but we now manage. Learing the healthcare administration will also help me learn and how to treat our mother's health as well.
