Freshman: The community is small and inclusive, there are always events going on and ways to be included to meet new people! I’ve been living in the dorms and it has been a great experience. The food is very good for the most part and after scholarships (which most everyone gets) I have found it affordable with a simple job! Amazing classes here. All the teachers know you personally by the end of the class and are very kind when you are struggling. It feels like I’m at home here plus you get a scholarship for just being some programs like the art or music program. You also get a scholarship for returning each year. I’m hoping to finish my bachelors in 3 years since most my high school credits transfered. The best part is you are right in the middle of sugar house with a part right across the street and everything within minutes from you. Freshman: There are so many things I love about USU! One of the main aspects that captivates me is the campus. I has a beautiful view of the mountains, and the school boasts a stunning landscape that fosters an environment of tranquility and inspiration, making it an ideal place for both learning and personal growth. However, it's not just the pretty surroundings that make Utah State University exceptional. The staff's friendliness and efficiency have left a great impression on me. Ever since I began the application process, the staff has been incredibly helpful and has answered all of my questions in a very timely manner, whether it was related to guidance on academics or support for extracurricular activities. Freshman: Southern Utah University is a great school! With academic and Institute, I am taking 22 classes this first semester. I am majoring in Music Performance with trombone. I hope to become a religious or musical educator. I have enjoyed SUU so much! I am working a part time job. Cedar City has lots of job opportunities for students. I recently returned from serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. SUU has a great school to transition from mission to university life. SUU has been such a positive experience and great learning atmosphere. I would strongly recommend SUU to anyone looking for a great and fun university experience, especially freshman coming from high school like myself. Junior: Brigham Young University has an outstanding uplifting atmosphere that I love! The professors are caring and understanding, and overall amazing at helping students reach their academic goals. The campus itself is gorgeous--making time in between classes a delight. One of my favorite things about BYU is their first year student mentoring experience. Each and every freshman is assigned to a mentor that they meet with throughout their first couple semesters. The mentors are also students so it is very nice to have some sense of camaraderie. What I also love about BYU is that everyone is friendly. Whenever I needed help a kind soul was there with a smile. Prayers before classes start and the devotionals each week really invite the spirit which only enhances my learning. Alum: Great school overall. Some amazing professors. Lots a scholarship opportunities and seriously one of the best Presidents you can have at a university. It does feel more like a commuter school. You don’t quite get the big university feel which can be a pro or a con for an individual. I was a transfer student and did enjoy my previous university more. At UVU I did appreciate the hybrid model I was able to utilize because life happens and sometimes you need to go to school online. I would highly recommend this university for their programs but also if you want to get you generals out of the way. It was a great stepping stone university for those also wanting to start here with because of the open enrollment then transfer else where. My only complaint is that there wasn’t a lot of school spirit and not a lot of major activities like dances or parties compared to what other public institutions in the state had. Freshman: Right now I'm studying through the Automotive Program that SLCCtech provides. First of all, the amount I was charged with is way cheaper than I imagined plus it lasts for 9 months!? I'm really glad I went through SLCC first, rather than starting off at UVU or Weber, because it will definitely save me a lot of money! Second, SLCC has so many opportunities and resources to let their students succeed and thrive! You just have to look in the right places, I guess haha. Or of course,you can ask your advisor about them! My current professor has mentioned there was a scholarship that will help pay for rent and if SLCC could get any cooler, it just did. I feel like there's only one "bad thing" about SLCC which is, I wish they had dorms. It'd be so much nicer for people who live so far away from their campuses. Anyways, all good reviews for SLCC from me, I like it so much here that I honestly want to go to SLCC for other classes just for fun. Even if it doesn't pertain to my career/degree.... Sophomore: Snow College was the perfect place to start my secondary education! This school helped me harness my interests and focus on my education together. There would always be something happening on campus because of the lack thereof in the surrounding town. Graduate Student: The Medical Billing and Coding program was a thorough course of actual practical skills. I really thought that the course has prepared me for job placement. Some of the course work, Like ICD 9, I found redundant. They have,however managed to updated the curriculum since then. The only reason I feel like I could not give it 5 stars is that the program has had staffing issues as of late. Freshman: I loved how much lab work was involved with the culinary program and loved my professors, especially Chef Tory Robinson. I loved combining the knowledge I already had with the coursework and especially loved the personal gems of advice my chefs gave me due to their own experience. I also loved how everyone was able to move at their own pace and figure things out, though I would have liked more group projects and wished we could have had the opportunity to take a culinary class field trip.
