Alum: I cannot speak highly enough about WSU Tech. I met all my favorite teachers there in the Information Technology program. Great opportunities for students including those in high school. You can start college programs through WSU Tech as early as your Sophomore year in high school. I started my Sophomore year and graduated from the IT program my Senior year. WSU Tech offers amazing classes and programs in Aviation, Healthcare, Construction, Manufacturing, Information Technology, and everything in between across its two campuses. No other place I've heard of does this! Students find a place to belong. Graduate Student: I think the social aspect of Cowley is amazing, and executed almost perfectly. Cowley is only a community college and not as big as other colleges, and definitely not as big as universities around it. BUT I will say that given that it is a smaller school, Cowley treats its students lavishly. And the way students are always given opportunities to get out into the community and experience life in a small town in Kansas. Sophomore: My first year at Butler was amazing! I met two of my bestest friends on only the first day of school! The teachers are also great. My public speaking class, which I was nervous for, turned out to be my favorite class of my whole first year! My biology professor made everything easy to understand and related the topics to our lives so we would better understand. I was also lucky enough to have the same teacher for two different classes which was really helpful since I already knew how she ran everything. The environment is small yet welcoming which makes it very easy to talk to people even as an introvert. I have also attended multiple sporting events which had high energy throughout the whole game! Alum: Washburn feels like home to me. It is an amazing place to learn in small class settings and has a lively community of students of all ages and backgrounds. It is extremely affordable compared to other universities in the state and has some beautiful new additions to campus since I graduated. I was able to have a 1-on-1 relationship with all of my professors and that helped me better comprehend the materials I was being taught and made learning fun and easy, especially knowing I always had help if needed. The campus is picturesque and the living spaces are comfortable and inviting. Plus, they just added a new merit scholarship grid that is based solely on your high school GPA, so you can get a big scholarship right off the bat just for applying! Sophomore: Ive been a student at Barton County Community College on and off for the past handful of years, and am currently a full time student in the Paramedic Program. BCCC has always being incredibly accommodating to me as a student. Particularly, the financial aid department has gone above and beyond to help me make sure everything financial is in order. Especially notable is one of the financial aid ladies bending over backwards, when I lost track of a particular scholarship, in order to make sure I had the help and coverage I needed. On multiple occasions, my teachers and instructors have helped me through class, especially when dealing with personal issues and complications. Junior: I enjoyed the college, it has a great environment with great teachers who will work with you if you are honest and open with them. I was terribly sick one semester and my teacher went out of his way to make sure I knew I was not gonna fail and that he'd catch me up if need be. He studied for hours after class with me, and I did end up passing! The counselors are wonderful people, very fun to stop and chit chat with when you're feeling bored of class. The library is a wonderful place to study, and make new study buddy partners, and the kitchen has absolutely amazing food, you've got to try it. Freshman: I like that it is a quarterly school because I can get my degree on a quicker timeline! I wish it was more cost efficient, but the faculty is great about being helpful and working with everyone to achieve their goals. I have enjoyed all of my professors so far because they’re willing to stay up late and/or offer additional resources to make sure that you understand what’s being taught in class so that you succeed.
