Sophomore: Although some professors were overwhelmed, some tasked with teaching up to 6 courses or more online at a time, I did have excellent professors as well. The resources that the school provides are extraordinary, with several student leadership opportunities as well. The campus is decent, but does not offer much seating space. Additionally, I would argue that a majority of the student body are under the age of 19, many enrolled in the middle-college program they offer. Thus, I do feel slightly alienated as an older student, which I would communicate to other prospective students. The courses, though, offer knowledgeable information and I feel have prepared me to transfer to University. Overall, I have had a great experience with the college and am very grateful to have had the opportunity to spend two years at a much cheaper cost with the same education compared to a four-year University. Junior: UNCG has a beautiful exterior with large trees, well-groomed bushes and grass patches, and architecture that combines the originally built dorms and class buildings with the newly updated and modern buildings. People are generally very friendly, both students and staff! And classes tend to be relatively decent with lots of thoughtful discussions and creative interactions in their syllabus. There is some improvement that could be made with the way a few buildings are as they get a little older and outdated in technology (dorm-wise). And sometimes there can be so much going on that one cannot even think about how they are going to be able to participate in so many activities whilst still staying strong in grades. Senior: I think that DDCC is pretty great. For a community college I could think of nowhere else I'd prefer to go. You get a student life experience that rivals many 4-year universities and they give you a lot of resources to succeed. Plus, we get free tutoring! Even though they don't have dorms on campus (or at least not yet) I still feel like DDCC is my home away from home. There's always something to do or someone to talk to as well as many quieter spaces to study. The Storm Cellar's food is really good, especially the tenders. I wish there were more athletic programs but they are slowly expanding and I personally think that we're pretty competitive for a school our size. Freshman: I love Elon! The community is so welcoming, and you can tell my stepping on the beautiful campus. The school supplies so many opportunities for students to get involved. Org fairs are amazing ways to find new things that you may be interested in, and meet others who have the same interests as you. Almost all of the undergraduate teachers that I have had are very understanding and genuinely want to see their students succeed. The night life is very fun, however parties start later than at other universities. Dining options are very good and there are plenty of retail places that you can 'swipe' into a select number of times a week, depending on your meal plan. Freshman: I liked having the option of doing my prerequisite classes online while in high school. Signing up for my prerequisite courses will help me have a less stressful college semester when I start in the Fall. I recommend getting ahead of the game to avoid as much stress and the possibility of having a semester off.
