Freshman: I like the vast spectrum of extracurricular activities such as clubs and sports. There's a lot of fun things to do. I myself am in a few organizations, and I've enjoyed my stay here so far! I also like the medical programs they have to prepare you if you're a pre-med student. There are a lot of majors that tailor towards medicine, and they have a lot of resources you can go to. I will say the only real problems I've had are with dorming. It gets really hot in the summer, and you're not allowed to bring an air conditioner unless you have a medical condition which can be troublesome. Junior: I am currently a Junior at Southern Connecticut State University, where I am studying Elementary Education as well as a Division II athlete on the Women's Lacrosse Team. The atmosphere and structure of the school provides me with a great education as well as college experience. My experience with academics has been amazing. My professors push me to my highest potential and make sure that I am set up for success. Being a student athlete can be hard at times, but Southern does an amazing job making sure all students are comfortable and supported through every step of the way in the college experience. Freshman: Being an upcoming freshman for Mitchell College I would like to emphasize how welcoming this college is. As a junior in high-school I decided to go to an electrical union after moving out of Ellington and was not expecting to go to a 4 year college. After visiting the school numerous times for my brother and watching him play soccer I was given the opportunity to be scouted by his coach. I told them I didn't know if I want to go to college and have not applied to anything besides the 3 local unions around me. They understood my situation and guided me through the process telling me that even if I decided not go they just wanted to give me the option. I well welcomed here. after a lot of thinking I decided to go. They made sure to give me an okay scholarship along with helping me set up my class selection and a budget plan for college.
