Junior: This year I am a transfer student from a community college so it's been almost my first full week at South Alabama! My experience so far has been nothing but pure fulfillment. Sophomore: Jacksonville State University was my backup school because I knew I was going to attend Auburn University. However, after visiting Auburn I did not feel any connection to it, and plus the campus was massive! Nevertheless, once my orientation singing and dancing show started at Jacksonville State, I knew I was where I belonged. With Jacksonville I feel more seen and included, not only in my classes and with my professors but also with my peers. Jacksonville State is not a massive college so it is not hard to get lost on campus! Compared to Auburn where I got lost during the tour. On another note, the classroom sizes are also smaller and I believe that this allows for a better connection between the faculty and students. Furthermore, anytime I needed to contact a professor about an assignment or class they were able to respond quickly. Freshman: Auburn University is a great state university! There are plenty of opportunities to explore campus and make connections. Every year they have over a month’s worth of freshman related events to go to, it’s very welcoming. Advisors are friendly and I have had no problems with my professors. Study and you will get the most out of your classes, though Auburn has plenty of free tutoring/aid for students as well! The only things that have been a problem are parking and housing. I live off campus, but I have heard about the hygiene of on some on campus buildings being below par. Parking is also extremely limited, and there is a lot of construction going on in Auburn. There’s nothing wrong with the academia itself, but be prepared to take extra time to park in designated areas and walk to classes. Investing in a scooter or bike may be wise, but arranging your schedule to be manageably walkable also works. AU is very thorough with campus safety so the only issue there is extra exercise.... Freshman: Columbia southern university was a very convenient school for my busy schedule as working mom. it was extremely easy to apply to and I got accepted the same day I submitted all of my documents. The admissions consulars were extremely helpful and friendly! I loved the quick responses from everyone about the questions that I had about the college and classes. The financial lady that I was working with wasn't very helpful and she took a very long time to respond to me. when she did respond, she was pretty rude and didn't really answer my questions. I understand she had a lot of student's financial documents to work on so it wasn't a very big deal, but when you're trying to start college as soon as possible and get everything you need in line to be able to start classes that next week it would be helpful to get some quicker responses. Freshman: Alabama A&M University is a great school! The people are the friendliest of all and they are so supportive to each other. The staff is super nice and the professors really try their best to make sure you understand the lectures. The school has so many fun activities to do year around and there are always opportunities approaching! The scenery is beautiful. There are also so many things to do around the area! The only thing is would love to change is the transportation, we have campus buses that take us anywhere expect the Health and Wellness Center. Sophomore: My experience at Alabama State University so far has been a very decent experience. My first semester, I was enrolled in 16 credit hours and getting to know the campus as much as I could. My second semester, I joined a dance team and got more exposure to the campus. Now it is my third semester and I am a part of the Rehabilitation Services Club serving as the historian. I love the fact that there are so many different opportunities on this campus! There are people from all of the world that attend this college, even students from France! Sophomore: Overall, I did not have a bad experience at Coastal Alabama. The campus itself is pretty small but the school is also a community college in a very small town in Alabama. The good part about the school being kind of small is that you get pretty familiar with everyone. There are two sets of dorms and there are some dorm rules. Check in/ check out was never anyones favorite thing while staying in the dorms but it is doable. Campus police are also readily available to help students at all times throughout the day and night if needed. There are also plenty of resources to help register for classes and other things of that nature. There's also great teachers at Coastal Alabama Community college, as well as scholarships that can be applied for. Coastal also offers on campus jobs throughout the school year! Freshman: I absolutely love the students and most of the faculty and staff at Faulkner. The campus is nice and easy to get around. The freshman dorms are very nice and spacious. Being a smaller college, class sizes are smaller, and your instructors are available to help more often. Senior: Enrolling at United States Sports Academy was the best decision I ever made. The staff and professors have been amazing and are always there for me if I need assistance or guidance. The fast track program has been very challenging but rewarding and I am looking forward to graduation in the spring. Working full time, coaching and the fast track program is overwhelming but worth it in the long run. United States Sports Academy has all the resources needed to complete your degree.
