Sophomore: I love just being and walking around the campus. There are many trees and beautiful cacti around. Everything on campus isn't too far. Maybe a 10-minute walk for buildings that are on the other side of campus. The main library is always full but it's nice because then the rest of the libraries on campus are usually empty. The Architecture Study Library is my favorite one on campus. It's always nice and quiet. Additionally, the group study rooms tend to always be available which is great. In my first year, I had to live in the dorms and it wasn't too bad. The space is pretty big. My first roommate left the first week of school and I was randomly paired with my second roommate. She was nice but we just had completely opposite personalities so living together was a little hard. The dining common food isn't that bad. It's actually pretty good. Sophomore: I really love the change of scenery I have here at UNR from Las Vegas. Although fitting in at first was a challenge, I got to learn so much about myself and the community here at UNR. I love how UNR tries to be as welcoming and helpful as possible to those in state and out of state freshman, transfers, and returning students. There are always staff, students, and peers ready to help with anything from the learning center to study groups all over campus. The student life here is also equally as amazing as the academic scene with multiple events allowing students to mingle and learn about one another. Graduate Student: My experience at Great Basin College was a stressful but very good one. I did the electricial program which is a very good program but so much gets thrown at us at once which made the school year challenging, but having the right instructor there which I did made it easier to make it through the program and graduate. I met many new people who I have become close with and am grateful to have experience what I have at this school. There is not much I would change other than the pace of the program I attended, but I understand that in this field of work there is so much to be learned that makes it difficult to slow things down. Sophomore: Great Basin has been a great starter college to complete generals. I have had primarily pleasant interactions with the professors for my in-person classes.
