Freshman: So far it's been great! The staff is absolutely amazing and they are extremely helpful. The campus is also great and has many resources, fun activities, dining options ranging from pizza hut and even on campus Starbucks, and study areas. There are also a large selection of classes to take as well as clubs and activities. Pittstate offers flat rate tuition for all courses. Alum: Washburn feels like home to me. It is an amazing place to learn in small class settings and has a lively community of students of all ages and backgrounds. It is extremely affordable compared to other universities in the state and has some beautiful new additions to campus since I graduated. I was able to have a 1-on-1 relationship with all of my professors and that helped me better comprehend the materials I was being taught and made learning fun and easy, especially knowing I always had help if needed. The campus is picturesque and the living spaces are comfortable and inviting. Plus, they just added a new merit scholarship grid that is based solely on your high school GPA, so you can get a big scholarship right off the bat just for applying! I wish they had that when I attended, although I still paid off my education less than a year after graduating! It's a first-class education at an affordable rate and I can't recommend enough.... Freshman: Wichita State University is a great start for someone who is looking for a college and lives around the Wichita area. I grew up in Wichita and have always had a hard time fitting in. But at Wichita State University, I feel like there are many places where I could connect with others who share similar interests. I plan to finish my degree with Wichita State University and look for more opportunities that are made easily accessible by the university. However, my problem with WSU is the surrounding area and it does not have many sports. WSU feels limited in the freedom of students because Wichita surrounds it. This makes it harder to experience "college life", especially when I have grown up here. Also, I know there are complications with sports here, but I believe that we can bring back an amazing football and basketball team that can compete in college sports leagues. Alum: FHSU has a special place in my heart. I love the faculty, the learning environment, and the variety of assignments given to me. Sophomore: Ive been a student at Barton County Community College on and off for the past handful of years, and am currently a full time student in the Paramedic Program. BCCC has always being incredibly accommodating to me as a student. Particularly, the financial aid department has gone above and beyond to help me make sure everything financial is in order. Especially notable is one of the financial aid ladies bending over backwards, when I lost track of a particular scholarship, in order to make sure I had the help and coverage I needed. On multiple occasions, my teachers and instructors have helped me through class, especially when dealing with personal issues and complications. All staff encounters have been phenomenal, and they truly embody caring about their students. BCCC offers an extensive variety of classes, both in-class and online. My experiences have been only good with the administration and the people who run the school or buildings that are on campus. The workers here are always nice and very accommodating to every religion, and they understand the struggle that is going on with almost every student coming from the same background or something similar. You can feel do you love and want every student to graduate in almost every single employee here teacher. They know most things if not all of what to do in the specific area that they work in. With the school being a government-assisted reservation, we have many opportunities to thrive and get classes that can help our degree at a lower-than-average cost. Freshman: I am continuously in awe of my school. Everything about this school is just phenomenal. We have the greatest President, and all the faculty and staff are outstanding. The students are also so kind and welcoming, it is refreshing being in a place where I feel so safe. Freshman: I like that it is a quarterly school because I can get my degree on a quicker timeline! I wish it was more cost efficient, but the faculty is great about being helpful and working with everyone to achieve their goals. I have enjoyed all of my professors so far because they’re willing to stay up late and/or offer additional resources to make sure that you understand what’s being taught in class so that you succeed. No one is left behind and I admire that overall moral that is shown so everyone that is apart of the program. I’m currently in nursing and it may be hard, but Rasmussen has so many reliable resources available at all times. It’s amazing the different outlets that can be used to aid in homework, tutoring, extra knowledge, and overall a better understanding of all of the courses. Sophomore: My experience at Donnelly had been life-changing. I never thought that a small college could make me feel at home and more connected to my community compared to my large high school.
