The cafeteria operates until 8 PM on most nights, providing flexibility for dining. Tutors are available to give assistance upon request, and advisors monitor students' progress to make sure you're doing well during the semester. The campus has various quality-of-life enhancements, including food delivery services via bots. Concerns about dormitory roommates are lifted by the matching process, making sure you're partnered with someone similar to you . However, improvements are needed in addressing dormitory issues such as malfunctioning air conditioning and ceiling leaks. having these issues resolved before the student occupies the dorm instead of having to send work orders to get issues fixed would be nice.... Freshman: So far, I have had a few problems with the university. I understand the goals of the institution and the objectives that the university strives to achieve. The diverse climate in the school is one of my favorite things about the school! The multiple backgrounds of students across campus and the specific groups have allowed me to witness and work alongside different people and similar people as myself. It has made me feel much more welcome and accepted. The only issue I hope to see improvement on within the next couple of years is the school's informational side. When searching online, I am hunting for information and having to call to find out things that I should easily be able to locate. These can include courses, financial aid, and teachers' profiles. If there was an easier system to figure out this information or to be able to view all of the information in one location, the process of application and viewing my situation would be much simpler and easier to perceive.... Sophomore: CNM has been an absolutely wonderful school to attend. They provide so many resources and opportunities for all kinds of students. Associate's Degrees, Trade School Degrees, High School Diplomas, you name it! I enrolled full-time through the dual-credit program and ended up taking between 4-6 classes a semester. The professors and staff are really helpful and everyone truly cares about fostering success here! I'm excited to earn my Second and Third Associate's Degrees here in December. The online flexibility they provide also make it extremely convenient for busy students such as myself (juggling part-time work and full-time high school at the same time). While I prepare for the transfer process, I know CNM will always hold a special place in my heart. Do note that despite the many on-campus programs available, students are very anti-social, so try and find some friends from high school to come along with you! :) Also, campus is still a lot safer than UNM but still in a bad area.... Other: Whoever decided to do away with the Solar Energy courses needs a serious Performance Review! We have been trying to find a Certified LOCAL Installer with knowledge of Enphase Systems for over a week now. All of the online lists of "Best" installers, businesses, & companies are cluttered with, not local as they claim, but out of state Brokers with no emplyees here & half baked lists of possibles. Sophomore: It feels like home; I grew up around Gallup, New Mexico with full of childhood memories to teenage dreams of going off to college to become a full-time nurse student. I'm proud to come back here and finish my associates degree of nursing this year! Back in 2017 or 2018, I arrived here, and I felt like I was back in high school being comfortable with the teachers and students. It's a nice and small university, but full of positive energy. I would recommend the campus not to change in any way because being around with the right students and asking one of the professors for help is enough than changing the university. Although, it has been an amazing journey and hopefully continue to always be this way when I graduate. I would also like to recommend the campus to all the students out there who are seeking for the right college degrees or programs and who wants to stay closer to home and being around their families and friends.... Freshman: College is a really experience and it’s even more scarier when a pandemic just took over your regular life. I was doing only online school in high school and then we went back to in person and it was scary. I didn’t know if I wanted to stay online or in person, but luckily I was able to do both in college. I chose to do my most important classes in person, which are like math, English and etc. I really liked it like that for my first year it made it a lot easier with work and school. I had good in person teachers that were always willing to help and made sure I wasn’t failing my classes, going to a community college was better for me than going to a bigger school....
