Junior: I love Dillard University! Since my sophomore year in high school, I've wanted to come to Dillard because it is a small campus, and the nursing program is fantastic here! I know that finding an HBCU with a small campus was number one for me. I love to be able to connect with my professors no matter which class it is. Professors have given me their personal contact information, which is unique because, at other universities, the professor may need to provide you with their contact number. The professors here at Dillard want you to succeed! The overall campus at Dillard is gorgeous, and we have been mentioned in the Cosmopolitan article that selects 10 HBCUs with the prettiest campuses. It is also relatively easy to figure out the campus and which buildings are which. The faculty and students here are lovely, and everyone is welcoming to the campus! Alum: I am a graduate of Xavier university of Louisiana, i graduated in spring of 2021 and honestly your time at Xavier is what you make it. I was a biology pre-med major and that track is not the easiest track to follow. The classes require a lot of time and focus. However the professor and your peers are there to help, go to the resource centers if you need help. The cafe decibels has good food on Wednesday and fridays those were my favorite days. The activities and student life on campus is 10/10 you have to get out of your dorm and meet people. Xavier focuses heavily on community service and has plenty of service opportunities. Our athletics is a pretty good program I was about of Gold Star Dance team and had a blast. All of our games are always heavily supported by our students. There are many organizations to join on campus. In closing the party life is amazing as well there will always be something for you to do, I mean you are in New Orleans. Hope you choose XU!... Sophomore: My experience at Southeastern Louisiana University is like no other. I could not imagine myself at any other University. With the great education, staff, food and student activities it can’t get any better! The diverse environment makes the whole campus thrive and all of the student organizations make it brighter. Freshman: Tulane University is so fun and lively. The classes are interesting and valuable, and the professors are very passionate and care about their students' success. The campus environment is amazing, and there is an abundance of student resources. The city of New Orleans is a blast, and uptown New Orleans is relatively safe. I may be biased as a student at Tulane, but I genuinely believe it is the best university, and I am so happy with my decision to attend. Junior: LSUHSC has been an incredible experience. I am confident that I am receiving some of the best medical training in the country. The facilities are incredible, especially the new NSTC which offers state-of-the-art SIM and lab educational experiences. It seems like the university is concerned with maintaining a diverse workforce, which is nice to see compared to it's campus in Baton Rouge--- the DEI department is constantly looking for ways to improve the student culture on campus. The faculty is very present, and invested making the program as efficient for students as possible. Organizationally, there could be some work. At times, deadlines are not met, and details are not completed on the administrative side. The school of nursing emphasizes a "chain of command" communication system that is often effective when issues arise within the faculty, but the administration seems to be on its own island....
