Niche User: Boston college is a great school! I recently got admitted to Boston College. I applied them through an organization called Quest-bridge that helps students that are minorities and come from low income families. Due to that, I got full tuition from Boston College. I really appreciate that Boston College is giving an opportunity to high achieving successful students since not everyone had the same opportunities growing up. In addition, I have been on Boston College tour before. It was magical there. The campus was the prettiest. More importantly, the admissions counselors were super kind to me when I went there. They answered all of my questions, and I kept in touch with them. I think this may be one of the reasons I was admitted. I think I can best express myself in interviews, since BC doesn't do interviews, it was definitely beneficial for me to show my personality to an admissions officer. Sophomore: I am starting to find my place at Tufts. Freshman: So far, Wellesley has been an incredible place. The professors I have had are both highly intelligent academics and great teachers, as well as interesting people, which is certainly a plus! While social life can be cliquey at times, there are plenty of places for you to meet people in your residence hall, in classes, and in clubs. I've bonded with people during random moments over almost anything. Students here are very academically committed and driven, but also find great ways to have fun, like having movie nights in dorm common rooms, going out to study or eat meals in Boston and Cambridge, or using study breaks to chat about life. We also have good dining hall food (my personal favorite dining hall out of our four is Bates Hall). Wellesley's location is also fantastic-- we have all the comforts of being in a quiet suburb while still having access to Boston and Cambridge if you want to experience the livelihood and vibrance of nearby cities! Alum: Northeastern provides lots of amenities to make students with different backgrounds comfortable. Lots of offerings help students feel supported in their mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing (e.g. meditation/prayer room, mental wellness programs, gym incl. group fitness programs, cafes on campus incl. Starbucks). The School is in the city, however still is one big campus which is rather rare for city campuses. I've had a good experience with my classes. There is a big variety to choose from. The international students could have been better integrated into the American student body. However clubs on campus allowed to meet people from all backgrounds. The variety of clubs and initiatives on campus is vast! The school has a great connection to the industry and the co-op program allows you to graduate with practical experience. Senior: Amherst College is a great place to study! I switched my major in my sophomore fall, and the transition was super easy. Because Amherst does not have any graduate programs, all the professors are there primarily to teach, and it is much easier to get research experience with professors over summers or during the semester. Summer research at the college helped me figure out that I wanted to switch majors. The open curriculum still let me keep taking classes in my former major, as well as in pretty much any other department I wanted to. Freshman: A "Niche" place indeed. I came here for a liberal arts education, yet Williams has provided more. A small school population with way more resource one could leverage to full extent. Everyone tries hard, but the environment is not competitive at all. You will be a big fish in a small pond loaded with food-drinking from the firehose, if to borrow a phrase from MIT. It's also more fruitful then Ivies, considering the average attention and resource you get is way richer. Sophomore: I love UMass! The campus is gorgeous and the school of business is excellent. There is nothing quite like the dining hall. There are lots of student resources for academics and academic achievement. Anything you could ask for, you can find on campus. However, the Amherst area off campus is also delightful. There are lots of local stores and resources like Target, Walmart, Staples, and Dunkin'. You can find things you need on campus at the school store. Or you can find lots of coffee on campus as there's a Starbucks, People's Organic Coffee, and Argo tea. All students are kind and welcoming. There's so many ways to get involved on campus with clubs, athletics, or greek life. The only thing I would advise about Varsity athletics is that the program is run poorly and the athletic directors show minimal care for corrupt activity of some of the coaches, especially the field hockey coach. Junior: Applying to Smith last-minute was absolutely the best decision I ever made. I have had access to academic and research opportunities equal to my friends at Ivy League institutions, but with the additional benefits of a small student to faculty ratio (more accessible 1 on 1 mentorship). Freshman: I absolutely love attending Holy Cross. As a rising sophomore, I have very few complaints. I had a great experience with my random roommate, the room was very spacious and clean when moving in, and the building had many relaxing/study spaces, as well as a laundry room and kitchen. As for the campus itself, it is very hilly which can get tiring but is an absolutely stunning campus to walk around, and the longest walk is a total of 10 minutes. The food was wonderful with many options - a cafe in the science building with the best sandwiches, a coffee shop adjacent to a lobby shop filled with medicine, toiletries, food, and drinks, and of course Kimball - main meals, as well as lower kimball with sushi and Mexican food daily.
