Freshman: I started attending Florida International University this summer and I absolutely love it. This is the only University that attracted me in Florida. The diversity in this school is truly incredible, there’s so many people from different backgrounds and it’s nice to get to know them. The people there also feel very welcoming and inclusive, and that’s what I really look for in a school. It lets make me gain more knowledge and become less ignorant of others. The professors I’ve had so far are incredible too, they are understanding and good at teaching. It feels like there is a strong support system and you can go to people when you feel troubled. Sophomore: I have had such a great time at FAU for the past year. Both Boca and Jupiter are such wonderful places to be in; the areas are relatively safe, bustling with life, and help me develop people skills and get out in the world. The facilities are top tier and the staff really care about my path in life. I have met future bridesmaids, fell in love with academia, and felt so free yet supported in college. All my classes have been really great and very helpful for my career goal. There have been bumps in the road, but the tutoring, support/therapy groups, friends, and overall faculty/staff/students have been incredible. The housing is also comfortable and beautiful. Senior: I will be graduating May 2023. Since walking on campus freshman year the professors have been amazing. They truly care about you as an individual and want you to do well. I love the paper and presentation based learning, they are all about hands on teaching. People will call lynn easy or a bad school or too expensive or rich kid school, but if you put effort and truly care about what you are learning then you will get a lot out of your college experience. Freshman: Barry University is both a place of comfort and a place that pushes you to step out of your comfort zone. Being at Barry, you are introduced to different people from different parts of the world. Despite how diverse it is, everyone is treated equally. Freshman: I'm currently a Freshman in St. Thomas University and so far I can say I didn't make a mistake by picking this college. There's always fun activities for students to do around campus and plenty of clubs to join to be involved in the school and meet new people. Going into college I was always scared because people would tell me school food was not the best, but thats not the case in STU the dinning hall always has various of food for everyone's liking and if you do not want to eat in the dining hall there's other the places you could eat on campus. I like STU because campus is not big and you can get to your destination by walking and the max it'll take is 10 minutes. All the staff member are willing to help when needed and there's public safety always on duty making sure campus is safe. STU is a catholic school but it doesn't force it on you, their understanding of other individuals belief. There's different options for housing and maintenance is always there when needed help.... Freshman: I will attend FMU in the Fall of 2023. I will be a freshman and play on the basketball team! I had a visit over Spring Break this year and felt an immediate connection with the campus, the coach, and the students I met. the majority of my middle and high school career was spent at a private school, which I believe, definitely prepared me for college, but I was one of the few black students and the only black male student in my class. My senior year I was able to go to a public school where the amount of black students was about 50% of the population, and I played football and basketball in city leagues which allowed me to be around people who looked like me, so I never lacked that in totality. I like the size of FMU's campus, it's an HBCU, and it speaks to who I am and who I will become. I know I will learn new things about myself and my learning style. Graduate Student: The professors and staff was very helpful and empathetic towards everyone they showed no prejudice. They was very helpful in any area that I needed help. They did not just teach, but they instilled in my just how special and smart I am, and they encouraged me every day that I can do it and because of that I did it, and I made it I am at the age where I can't keep up with the younger students but they was considerate, and kind. If not for their consciousness of me as a person I would not have made it. There was a time that I wanted to give up one of the professors talked to me and listened to me, he told me that I am cut out for college just when I needed that talk.
