Senior: I've had an amazing experience at UT. Pursuing a career in journalism, it's an honor to be studying at one of the best journalism programs in the world! I've learned so much from such amazing and accomplished journalists, and I've been able to grow my knowledge and journalistic writing and center in on exactly what path I want to go down in journalism. Along with that, I've been able to pursue other academic interests of mine through pursuing an additional degree in sociology and a certificate in human rights and social justice. I've been able to broaden my knowledge on the issues that plague marginalized communities around the world and through this I've been able to strengthen my reporting and story telling as a journalist. I've also completed four internships throughout my time at the university, and will be studying abroad in the fall! Junior: Texas State University is a wonderful school with a beautiful campus and countless resources dedicated to help students of all sorts to succeed. With every decision I made for my education, I felt confident that it was the best one thanks to the staff and faculty who so eagerly assisted me in advising and analyzing each choice and opportunity. Junior: Never would I imagine that I would make it to a University and get the best experience. And yet here I am, my experience of being a student at St. Edward's University have been fantastic! My first time entering the building so much anxiety built up in my body, but also excitement that my voice is screaming inside "I'm really actually here!" not to mention a lot of emotional feelings flooding in and out when I had to say goodbye to my family. Now being in College doesn't go without struggles and its been like a rollercoaster for me, but with the help and support of St. Edward's and my family I made it through my first year. There are a lot of things that I like about the University, for one it does really good on notifying its students on any up comings announcements, alerts, and even inspiring messages for every struggling student. Junior: I am actually attending Concordia University right now. I have so far liked it, I feel it is a good fit because I am from the city and with this campus being in the middle Austin, I feel more at home. This is not a school that just “wants to take your money”, it is a school that actually wants to see you succeed and get you to the next point in your life! Everything that is offered on campus is so helpful in so many ways such as free tutoring, work study, many other resources for your major and so much more! I was a bit scared coming from a juco to a university because it is a really big step. However, attending Concordia it is not overwhelming, and as challenging, because like I said they are so helpful with making sure you are where you need to and making sure you also get to that point. Also being an athlete it can be time consuming and stressful but the professors are so understandable and flexible and do everything they can to keep you updated and on the same page!... Alum: I owe it all to this school- the best school I will ever attend! I got into my dream school through ACC, and you get access to an immense amount of resources with such low tuition. The professors always cared a lot about what they taught, the campuses were always clean, and the offices/services are so much more efficient compared to my current 4-year university. Junior: I love that the classroom size is small, it's allocated to help each student individually. The professors are truly there to see you succeed, they all have an open door policy, including the dean. The rarity of that alone makes me more comfortable in my learning experience. We may be a small school but we are close knit, the professors actually know you by name. You are not just a student on a long list of names. I transitioned to HT from a major university and it was so difficult for me to fit in. The minute I walked on campus I was not only relieved to see so many people that looked like me, but the fact that everyone was so friendly.
