Sophomore: I am a commuting student attending at Tiffin University! The College provides a great educational opportunity for those interested in majoring in Criminal Justice or Forensic Psychology. The campus is relatively small and decorated by brick styled buildings. The school has a great program for those who are a part of music, theatre or art. Those interested in neither sports or the arts may be interested in g-sports for which have their own building as well. In regard to music students they have there own designated building for practice much like any other group on campus. The University also has a variety of options open for athletes. There is a turf stadium, grass game field, gymnasium, indoor lifting center, practice track and outdoor grass and turf practice fields. Among these great options there is also a large building with an indoor track and turf. Senior: My experience with Notre Dame College has been wonderful! They have one of the most immersive I.E.P programs I have seen a higher educational school provide. Their program is called the Thrive Center. Classes are small and personal, you will always get to know your professor on a one to one basis and also get to know your classmates. Niche User: Bowling Green State University was a wonderful experience for me. I have been on countless college visits, but none of them truly felt like home for me. It is a big university with a small-town feel which was perfect for me. The tour guides are very friendly, personable, and honest. Senior: I am a returning student at The University of Akron. After earning an associate's degree in 2002, I joined the working world. After many, many years away from school, I decided to return for a bachelor's degree. I reached out to an advisor who was extremely helpful. She worked with me to make sure that all of my prior credit hours were applied to my new degree, and worked with me to create a school schedule that would accommodate my full time work schedule. Sophomore: I started attending classes late 2021 via my workplace benefits (that are now ending unfortunately). Having not had the best experiences with school previously, I was very apprehensive at first and being an older student (30s) wasn't sure of what to expect. Enrollment process was very simple and streamlined, same for the FAFSA process. I chose the accelerated terms since I do well with time management/fast paced environments. I have found all of my professors thus far to be extremely knowledgeable, helpful and passionate about their subjects of study. Freshman: My experience with CSCC has been amazing. My professors are great and I’m excited about my future. Online learning is a process initially, but once you get in the swing of things it’s great! Other: I attended Owens for 4 semesters as a CCP student and really enjoyed my time there. I gathered 34 college credit hours before graduating high school and will be transferring them to a 4 year public university this fall. 26 of these credits were taken online and 8 were in person. The professors really cared and offered support, encouragement, and advice whenever they could. I loved all of my professors and met some really cool classmates. I highly recommend Cory Hoover for English courses and L. Scott Deaner for Human Geography as a general elective course. They were my favorite professors and I took 2 classes with each of them because the content was so interesting. I learned a lot during my time at Owens and met some great friends. It is definitely a different experience from public universities and there aren't a lot of student activities compared with bigger schools since the student body on campus is relatively small. Freshman: Great atmosphere! Lots to do. Rock climbing, pool, basketball, and a really nice gym which is all free for students. there is also a laundry mat in both dorms and is free to use on both sides. If you sign up to work 10.5 hours a week they will take off one thousand dollars off each semester. You can choose on where you want to work and who you want to work with and it works around your schedule. If you have family visiting they can use everything as well for free all you have to do is sign up for the times. They have different events scheduled on the weekends. You can buy a meal card and use it to get your breakfast and lunch and dinner or whatever it is you want or need. The one I got is fourteen meals a week and I also brought snacks with me. In the dorms we have mini fridges with freezers so we can keep some stuff in there. Alum: My experience at Lakeland was like no other. I graduated from high school in 2020. I was planning on heading to Kent State when COVID came into play. I knew that going to Lakeland was a good decision, I just didn’t know how much it would impact me. Being mostly online for the past 2 years I still enjoyed every moment. One major thing that made my experience at Lakeland was having the chance to graduate with my aunt. During COVID she thought to herself and brought it to us, why not go back to school? Nobody had an answer to why she shouldn’t. So back to school she went. We actually had 2 classes together! One in person, one online. 2 years later, her and I were able to graduate together with our associate of arts degree and this is something that I will cherish forever. Freshman: So I went to Kent State Geauga for orientation and overall each one of the faculty members were very welcoming made sure you felt comfortable and safe. When meeting with my admissions advisor( Courtney) when it came to scheduling my classes she made sure to ask questions along the line of what my major is, did I have any incoming credits, and what my intended work load I'm wanting. She made sure to check each one of those boxes and she made sure that I can be the most successful for my freshman year. One thing that I would change would be to update the interior, which they are currently doing some work on now that its summer.
