Sophomore: Multiple sons attending. Best academic institution in the world! Magnificent architectural buildings. The military regiment, the friendships, a band of brothers is what they become. Midshipmen have the opportunity to participate in various activities and sports. Academics are rigorous. Plebe year is extremely difficulty (don't quit!)followed by earned respect in the youngster year, more relaxed, still highly academic years to come, but more at ease as they know how to navigate the waters.... Other: One of the best community colleges out there. I am currently a dual-enrollment student and coming in, I was worried that I would get made fun of for my age, but it was the complete opposite! The friends I have made at Montgomery College truly encourage me to become the best version of myself. They push me to come out of my comfort zone and try new things. Additionally, the professors are all so sweet, understanding, and are readily available for help whenever needed. Beyond the classroom, there are a plethora of clubs to get involved in and many tutoring centers to seek assistance from. My personal favorite was the Reading and Writing Center. Freshman: My professor is wonderful! She does her best to help all her students succeed. All the staff that I’ve interacted with have been very kind and happy to help. Unfortunately, some of the signup process is convoluted. I am eligible for decreased tuition. Unfortunately, the process for reimbursement is complicated. Despite having done what was required several times, it doesn’t always go through/apply the discount. And to receive the discount, one must go through this process each semester. Freshman: My experience at Howard Community college has been nothing short of a pleasant experience. This fall I started my first semester as a freshman, and after talking to friends, I believe this college is as resourceful as your average state university in terms of academics and extracurriculars. As for my personal experience, HCC is the best stepping stool I could have to make the transition from high school to university smooth and easy. So far, my most recent and exciting accomplishment at this school has been earning a spot in the SGA as senator of the academic division. I am looking forward to running for president next semester! A project in progress I am optimistic about is my progress on starting the school’s first ever women’s empowerment club. Though students have easy access to tons of opportunities and guidance at HCC, there is room for improvement. Freshman: Growing up, I had heard many bad things about community colleges which distorted my view on the Frederick Community College. During the application process, I was greeted with friendly staff who went above and beyond to answer my questions and make the process easy for me. Freshman: My experience at Cecil college has been nothing but positive so far! The amount of resources available and help offered is unbelievable. Each professor I've had has left a positive impact on me, each pushing me further and helping me to stay focused with school. The one change I would suggest is more club options, something for everyone and something to keep students involved. For example a paint club or student life club could be an outlet for students during the stressful times of college.
