Sophomore: There are many aspects of Eastern Kentucky Universitythat I like. EKU is very welcoming and encourages students to step out of their comfort zone. The professors care about the students and communicate well. The ratio between students and teachers is low, so a student can get some one-on-one time with the professor. They also offer tutoring in all subjects. The tutors are very helpful and are available seven days a week. The dining hall has good food and plenty of space to sit and enjoy a meal with your friends. The Rec Center is new and has a weight room, basketball courts, a swimming pool, e-sports lounge, a walking track, and a rock climbing wall. I really enjoy the Rec Center and I enjoy renting tents an kayaks. I enjoy the grounds of EKU, there are ample places that you can study or focus on your mental health. Freshman: I am currently enrolled in gateway community and technical college for an online computer programming course. Freshman: The campus is on the small side, but that doesn't matter when there is a diverse amount of students here. I've met many people thus far and I've already made a few connections, some of which I think I'll carry with me after I graduate. I've attended this college before and graduated with an Associate in Arts, I'm now back to get my Associate in Business Administration for Accounting. So the people I met my first time are gonna be completely different from who I'm meeting in the upcoming semester, and I look forward to it. I'm excited to take new classes and learn again. Freshman: I am currently a freshman at West Kentucky Community & Technical College. Although I have only been here for a short amount of time, I have had an outstanding experience so far. The staff-to-student ratio is small, which has allowed me to make real connections with my professors. My current professors explain assignments well and clearly state what they expect from students. If I have an issue with any of my assignments, I can email the professor and will receive a response in a professional amount of time. If I had to change one thing, I think that WKCTC could offer more niche classes. I am a fashion design major, but I cannot complete any core classes without transferring. Sophomore: Western Kentucky is a great school to be involved and make life long friends, but it also has its downs. There are minimal food options and the living conditions could improve a little. Alum: I have been retired March 2020. I am sitting in my 2800 square ft on 4.69 acres. I had a pretty enjoyable life and career all due to the courses I took at this college way back in 1990. I owe them a big thank you, up until then I bounced from one dead end job to another. Then at 35 years old I went back to college became a certified IT tech and finally had a future. Sophomore: Attending Elizabethtown Community & Technical College has been a very special experience for me. My mom, dad, brother all attended ectc, so it feels extra special to be continuing that on, almost like a tradition. Although many young people would prefer to attend a university, in my opinion what makes ectc so special is the fact that it is a community college, it feels like a small town where everyone knows each other. I have found myself making great relationships with students and teachers. One thing I would want to change at ectc is the activity rate, I want to encourage more students to help out around the school or even join clubs.
