Niche User: I have been taking dual credit classes at Lone Star College for two semesters now. I first took two classes in the summer of 2022 online and have been taking face-to-face classes since Fall 2022- Spring 2023. There are so many great things about this institution. The professors are very well educated and teach with great passion. All faculty are always kind and want the best for you; they are always willing to help you in anyway they can. At Lone Star College, the Student Life is filled with dozens of clubs to join, sports team, work-study programs, etc. They are always offering different scholarships and they offer many mental health services on campus that are free, beneficial and helpful to every student who reaches out. What sets LSC apart from other community colleges is how they are one of the few who offer bachelor degrees. Other: I think San Jacinto College is great! It's a helpful and cost-effective way to get your basics done and out of the way while not having to pay the considerably higher price tags that 4-year universities like to put on their introductory classes. The teachers and students I've met are all very nice, the campus isn't that bad looking and the fries in the student cafe are heavenly. My favorite parts are when the clubs or the school itself hold festivals and such. I've received a custom-made license plate, flowers, and even ice cream for free at them! Overall I'm very satisfied with my San Jac experience and would recommend it to anyone who may not want to pay the 4-year universities their high price for basics that can be done at San Jac.... Alum: As a graduate of the Texas Southern University Jesse H. Jones School of Business and Honors College, I recommend this institution for all your higher education needs. Most of my professors and advisors were excellent, most of my learning facilities were modern and top notch, and Houston is such an amazing city with so much to explore off campus. The cost of TSU has gone up tremendously so I highly recommend applying to as many scholarships as possible! If you're out of state, I recommend getting Texas residency first for cheaper tuition which is relatively easy to do (do your research). Also the cost of living near campus has gone up tremendously so I highly recommend finding a roommate who has a lot in common with you to help lower the cost ... Iiving alone can be costly. If you can't seem to find a roommate with a lot in common with you, just find a STEM major. STEM majors usually spend a lot of time doing school related stuff ... barely see or hear from them.... Freshman: I have only been a student for a short amount of time, but that time has been filled full of learning and new experiences. The campus has made some major renovations to improve student life and morale and the overall feel is very welcoming. The staff is also very welcoming and helpful. On my first day, I got lost trying to find my way to my first class, and immediately, a staff member approached me and asked if I could use any help getting to class. I said yes and told her what class I was taking and she immediately pointed me in the direction of my class. It was a great first encounter, and it made me feel better about asking for help and finding things out about where I was going to school.
