Senior: TCU has an incredibly inclusive and supportive community. The professors genuinely care about their students and want their students to succeed. Many have their PhD, with years of real-world industry experience. They are great resources as mentors both in an outside the classroom. The school spirit of TCU is unlike any other school. Students are incredibly proud to be horned frogs and hold lots of school pride. This year, students have been calling TCU an "everything school" because of our success in academics and across all sports. TCU has a great campus, with state-of-the-art buildings and facilities. The dorms are well-equipped and updated, and the recreation center is a great facility. The dining hall food in the BLUU isn't great, but there's plenty of dining options on campus (a healthy smoothie bar, chick-fil-a, Peet's, flatbreads, etc.) and others on University Avenue. Alum: I loved my professors and program at SMU! The campus is absolutely gorgeous and it's a really good size without being too small or overwhelmingly large. The school is in the perfect location for local restaurants and shops while being 10 minutes away from the nightlife of downtown and the entertainment of the districts. Overall, it was a god experience. The people weren't my favorite, but I was still able to find my own group of people that didn't give in to the "rich-kid" stereotype the school has. Alum: When I applied to UNT as a graduate student (my second graduate degree), I was a bit worried about the rigor of the program because my previous two universities were much higher ranked. I was so surprised! I absolutely loved my time at UNT; beautiful and safe campus, knowledgeable and friendly professors, and the rigor of my coursework was actually better than my previous degrees. When I mentioned that I was enrolled at UNT, I would often hear how people who had done their undergraduate degrees at UT Austin or A & M College Station had gone on to complete masters degrees at UNT and “loved it!” I couldn’t agree more. Also, this school gives fantastic merit scholarships! I was shocked that I ended up paying half the expected tuition each semester. Sophomore: I love UTD. It's a great school that boasts of many help resources for students, research facilities, and appropriate student-to-teacher ratio. PLTL and SI have saved me in all the courses I've been enrolled in and helped me receive awesome grades. I love the medium-sized and tight-knit campus. The food is good too! Located in Dallas, there's a variety of food chains you can try. The dorms are on another level. A private bathroom and shower for three people is very convenient, along with a separate room. Junior: Texas Woman's University is an amazing school. I am a nursing student at the Houston campus. I have learned so much in my short time attending. I have only spent a semester at TWU and I absolutely love it. The professors are very knowledgeable and they are really good at teaching and making lectures engaging. The professors have been nice, understanding, and very professional. Although the content they teach can be difficult, they deliver it in a way that is easy to understand. They really let you know their expectations from the beginning and it sets you up for success in their classes. Even after our first exam, some of the students that struggled with the first exam had one on one meetings with our professors to see what areas the student needed help with. Which I think is very helpful! The student life center at TWU Houston is absolutely my favorite. They really do care about the students. Junior: My experience at DBU has been truly wonderful. I honestly believe that no other Christian private university stresses to the extent DBU does of integrating Christ into their education, activities, career preparation, etc. All the faculty and staff are extremely intentional, loving, and caring whether in class or at work, their number one priority is to help the students in any way they can. The price of DBU is deceiving because there are so many scholarships to help bring the cost down dramatically. My favorite thing about DBU is the community and relationships I have made here. I have made my lifelong best friends here. All students live on campus and there are close to no parties on campus. Junior: Transferring to UTA from a community college, I was nervous to meet new students and about the load of the coursework. After my first week of attending classes, I made friends that I still keep in contact with today! My overall experience has impacted my daily life and attitude. Sophomore: Overall, my community college was and still is an amazing experience! All of the professors that I've had throughout my years of being enrolled in the institution were always very professional and helpful when it came to students needs while taking their course. Every professor went above and beyond to make sure I grasped the different subjects that were discussed if I ever at one point lacked any understanding. Not only are the professors very reassuring but all the rest of the staff such as financial aid advisors, counselors and security as well. Currently, I'm enrolled in the downtown location and although, all classes are now online when I did actually take my classes on campus, I felt very secure and safe 24/7/. Junior: Great University. I can only speak in my experience attending UNT's College Of Business and the instructors I engaged with. All considered tuition here is more affordable than most, pair that with highly qualified instructors I saw in classrooms, Id say you GET the most bang for your buck and then some. I was lucky enough to enroll just as the University completed construction of a new COB building. A hugely upgraded facility from what I expected, lucky timing I suppose. Most importantly I truthfully enjoyed attending class, regardless of how hard we partied on Fry St. the previous night. NEVER imagined myself saying those words before attending this University. Tuition is relatively a "bargain" because the Dollar: IQ received ratio is excellent! My major was business; our building was brand new, and the professors I thought were brilliant.... Junior: Texas Wesleyan is a great school for those who don't want to be a number. Classes range from 6-20 students so you get to know your professors and fellow students in a way that wouldn't get to at a bigger university. The professors genuinely want to help you succeed and will work with you if you just ask for help. Campus life makes you feel included and it is really easy to make new friends and find new people to talk with. There are lots of places to hangout on campus and they are very inclusive on the student organizations allowed to form on campus. The only issue that keeps popping up is miscommunication.
