Alum: Washburn feels like home to me. It is an amazing place to learn in small class settings and has a lively community of students of all ages and backgrounds. It is extremely affordable compared to other universities in the state and has some beautiful new additions to campus since I graduated. I was able to have a 1-on-1 relationship with all of my professors and that helped me better comprehend the materials I was being taught and made learning fun and easy, especially knowing I always had help if needed. The campus is picturesque and the living spaces are comfortable and inviting. Plus, they just added a new merit scholarship grid that is based solely on your high school GPA, so you can get a big scholarship right off the bat just for applying! I wish they had that when I attended, although I still paid off my education less than a year after graduating! It's a first-class education at an affordable rate and I can't recommend enough.... Freshman: I transferred to Baker University for the Spring semester (2021) and have absolutely loved it so far! The admissions department was understanding of my situation at my former institution and extremely helpful in getting everything in order for the transition. All of my credits from high school and my previous University transferred over and I was able to get into all the classes that applied with my major. Another thing I have noticed since being at Baker is how involved the student body is in different activities and events the Student Life Office and other school organizations, like Sororities, have throughout the week. On most days there is a new club/group handing out snacks or fun items to students and inviting us to participate in the activity they are hosting. Freshman: So far it's been great! The staff is absolutely amazing and they are extremely helpful. The campus is also great and has many resources, fun activities, dining options ranging from pizza hut and even on campus Starbucks, and study areas. There are also a large selection of classes to take as well as clubs and activities. Pittstate offers flat rate tuition for all courses. Alum: FHSU has a special place in my heart. I love the faculty, the learning environment, and the variety of assignments given to me. Freshman: Wichita State University is a great start for someone who is looking for a college and lives around the Wichita area. I grew up in Wichita and have always had a hard time fitting in. But at Wichita State University, I feel like there are many places where I could connect with others who share similar interests. I plan to finish my degree with Wichita State University and look for more opportunities that are made easily accessible by the university. However, my problem with WSU is the surrounding area and it does not have many sports. WSU feels limited in the freedom of students because Wichita surrounds it. This makes it harder to experience "college life", especially when I have grown up here. Also, I know there are complications with sports here, but I believe that we can bring back an amazing football and basketball team that can compete in college sports leagues. Sophomore: My first year at Butler was amazing! I met two of my bestest friends on only the first day of school! The teachers are also great. My public speaking class, which I was nervous for, turned out to be my favorite class of my whole first year! My biology professor made everything easy to understand and related the topics to our lives so we would better understand. I was also lucky enough to have the same teacher for two different classes which was really helpful since I already knew how she ran everything. The environment is small yet welcoming which makes it very easy to talk to people even as an introvert. I have also attended multiple sporting events which had high energy throughout the whole game! The professors are personal and available. The classes are challenging!! The town of Atchison welcomes the students of Benedictine College, which brings economic boon to the town. During Covid, this school stood by its students and fought for them to stay on campus when the county wanted to impose severe limitations. BCCC has always being incredibly accommodating to me as a student. Particularly, the financial aid department has gone above and beyond to help me make sure everything financial is in order. Especially notable is one of the financial aid ladies bending over backwards, when I lost track of a particular scholarship, in order to make sure I had the help and coverage I needed. On multiple occasions, my teachers and instructors have helped me through class, especially when dealing with personal issues and complications. Senior: My experience at MidAmerica has been rocky. The usual ups and downs as a student, however there are many great things about this university. Junior: I really enjoyed the small classrooms size and how much the professors are invested in your all over success, whether school or sports. KWU understands the balance between sports and academics. They value the individual over everything. I do wish that the clubs on campus were more visible to students and the community.
