Junior: Brigham Young University has an outstanding uplifting atmosphere that I love! The professors are caring and understanding, and overall amazing at helping students reach their academic goals. The campus itself is gorgeous--making time in between classes a delight. One of my favorite things about BYU is their first year student mentoring experience. Each and every freshman is assigned to a mentor that they meet with throughout their first couple semesters. The mentors are also students so it is very nice to have some sense of camaraderie. What I also love about BYU is that everyone is friendly. Whenever I needed help a kind soul was there with a smile. Prayers before classes start and the devotionals each week really invite the spirit which only enhances my learning. Freshman: Southern Utah University is a great school! With academic and Institute, I am taking 22 classes this first semester. I am majoring in Music Performance with trombone. I hope to become a religious or musical educator. I have enjoyed SUU so much! I am working a part time job. Cedar City has lots of job opportunities for students. I recently returned from serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. SUU has a great school to transition from mission to university life. SUU has been such a positive experience and great learning atmosphere. Alum: I loved my time at Dixie State. I loved the class sizes, and I loved all my professors, as they really seemed to care about me and my education. I absolutely loved the student life. Student associations do a ton to host events for the students, and that was the best part. Dances were always great and something to look forward to in the year. Housing is well-priced and inclusive. I met most of my friends just from student life in the dorm, and I loved the dorm environment. Athletic games were always fun as well! One thing I would say is that they have a lot of focus on STEM managers but disregard the humanities. Our building was outdated, with only three classrooms. STEM majors had their own buildings with multiple floors. The name change didn't make us feel any more included. I would ask that they work on equally supporting all majors and not just focusing the money and resources on STEM. Freshman: Right now I'm studying through the Automotive Program that SLCCtech provides. First of all, the amount I was charged with is way cheaper than I imagined plus it lasts for 9 months!? I'm really glad I went through SLCC first, rather than starting off at UVU or Weber, because it will definitely save me a lot of money! Second, SLCC has so many opportunities and resources to let their students succeed and thrive! You just have to look in the right places, I guess haha. Or of course,you can ask your advisor about them! My current professor has mentioned there was a scholarship that will help pay for rent and if SLCC could get any cooler, it just did. I feel like there's only one "bad thing" about SLCC which is, I wish they had dorms. It'd be so much nicer for people who live so far away from their campuses. Anyways, all good reviews for SLCC from me, I like it so much here that I honestly want to go to SLCC for other classes just for fun. Even if it doesn't pertain to my career/degree.... Freshman: I've been a student at BYU-Pathway Worldwide and my experience i really like about it is the flexibility it offers. The online format allows me to balance my studies with other commitments, making it accessible for people with busy schedules. The support from instructors and advisors has been helpful too. They are responsive and genuinely care about the success of the students. The PathwayConnect program, in particular, provides a solid foundation for higher education and career advancement. However, there are a few areas I'd like to see improvement in. One is the course variety; while they offer a good range of programs, expanding the selection would benefit students with more specific career goals. Additionally, more scholarship opportunities would be greatly appreciated to make education more affordable.
