Sophomore: The student organizations, resources for students, and variety of courses is incredible. Every day I discover a new opportunity for professional and personal growth and the resources for mental and physical health are phenomenal. The fitness centers on campus have classes, personal training, and top notch equipment. There are so many ways to get involved and a club for EVERY interest, both personal and professional. My only complaints are that the advisors can be hit or miss. Some advisors are incredible and give you a breath of information and provide you with a ton of resources but some advisors left me with more questions than answers. Some of the professors are amazing and passionate and the reason why I changed my major to economics. On the other hand some professors were so incredibly bad that I changed my major to something outside of their discipline. Freshman: I loved the environment and the people there made it very enjoyable. I made the cheer team this year, and when i first arrived i eas increadably scared but once i gat there everyone was very welcoming and kind. The campus is pretty small so it is easy from plae to place by walking. There are many D1 sport programs at JU, so if you like sports, or watching them there are plenty of options. They have a travel abrod program in italy wich is very cool and a lot of fun! They do have Greek life at JU and from what ive hear they are a lot of fun and is a great way to meet people and have that instant group of friends. The dorm rooms when they show you the sample one is verry small but i got a chance to look at some of the other dorms with my friends and they are in fact better then what they showed durring the tour. Freshman: I’m a biomedical science major and I have absolutely loved it! I’m from Wyoming and it feels like a home away from home. Classes are challenging, yet professors really work with you to make sure you’re at your full potential. I’ve joined so many things that I would’ve never imagined, joined AED (Alpha Epsilon Delta) which is a medical honor society with many volunteer opportunities, rushed for a sorority and have met so many people. Freshman: I started attending Florida International University this summer and I absolutely love it. This is the only University that attracted me in Florida. The diversity in this school is truly incredible, there’s so many people from different backgrounds and it’s nice to get to know them. Sophomore: I have had such a great time at FAU for the past year. Junior: I first started going to Ave in 2021 and really did not like it at first. It kind of just reminded me of high school all over again. I had a few issues with the athletic programs as they were not very professional. I did really start to like it my sophomore year. Since it is a smaller, private Catholic school I was able to grow a close relationship with each of my professors. I was also able to grow in my Faith and receive my first communion recently! Sophomore: The faculty are very kind and there are plenty of things to do at the college, events that take place, and clubs to join. For instance, there is free tutoring available at all times at the library which really helps me when I'm struggling with math! Also there was an event a few days ago where you are able to donate blood so that was super neat! I got a $25 dollar gift card from it! Graduate Student: The professors were excellent! I had many that engaged with their students, always ensuring the class was on everyone's level while also going at a pace where everyone understood the assignment. The professors also weren't pushy and didn't pile up work on students, they understood we had lives to tend to and made it manageable to work with. The school and faculty themselves also were elementary and forward going, if you had a question it would be answered, and if we had opinions about something they never went unheard. Sophomore: One of the first things that drew me to TCC was its size. The classes are smaller, averaging around 30 students. It's much more personal than a university and it's made finding a community and accessing help much easier for me. My development of relationships with my professors has also gotten much better. They actually have time to meet with and counsel me instead of being swamped with 100 students a class. It's amazing. A few things I would like to see change include the upkeep of the campus. It's a bit dated. It almost feels like a time capsule back into the 90s which might be nice for some. However, they have started some excellent renovations in one of the student halls next to the bookstore which is promising. It would also be nice if the Financial and Cashiers offices showed more hospitality and kindness to their students. Attitudes there can often be bland and unconcerned.
