Freshman: Auburn University is a great state university! There are plenty of opportunities to explore campus and make connections. Every year they have over a month’s worth of freshman related events to go to, it’s very welcoming. Advisors are friendly and I have had no problems with my professors. Study and you will get the most out of your classes, though Auburn has plenty of free tutoring/aid for students as well! The only things that have been a problem are parking and housing. I live off campus, but I have heard about the hygiene of on some on campus buildings being below par. Parking is also extremely limited, and there is a lot of construction going on in Auburn. There’s nothing wrong with the academia itself, but be prepared to take extra time to park in designated areas and walk to classes. Investing in a scooter or bike may be wise, but arranging your schedule to be manageably walkable also works. AU is very thorough with campus safety so the only issue there is extra exercise.... Junior: It has been good! There are a lot of opportunities available for students. I attend one of the extended campuses and there is not a lot offered there. However, the main campus does a great job at keeping their extended campuses informed with events at the main campus. In addition, I remind myself of the convenience of not having to commute, it still provides a way for me to get the education I want which I am thankful for. Junior: I can honestly say I cannot imagine being this happy with any other university. I had high standards, as someone wanting to attend college here since the age of 14, but I was not disappointed in the slightest. The Elementary Education program creates such a close-knit and knowledgable group of students that I am so excited to see teach. As a pretty quiet person myself, there are people in my Elementary Ed classes I wouldn't even imagine speaking to or having anything in common with, but everyone is so extremely supportive and it truly feels like a big family. The professors in my department are very well-respected and knowledgable, while still clear that I can go to them with any personal issue I need advice on. The surrounding town is also amazing, there is so much to do while still keeping the small-town energy that draws a lot of students to campus. The staff at the Ayers campus is accommodating and the teachers are good and seem to care about the success and well-being of their students. Alum: Great institution with a great staff that actually. And will do everything in their power to make sure you succeed. Can tell they genuinely care about their students. I think Faulkner people the department would be my only draw from Faulkner university. It is very easy to feel targeted and having the feeling that you would have to walk on eggshells to go unnoticed. Understand that they are only doing a job that they are called to do, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming. Next that I feel could easily be change for the better is chapel. Over my four years at Faulkner chapel progressed as something that was fun and enjoyable into something that seemed very forced and hard to go too. One year at Faulkner which I think was the best as far as chapel goes is when we where only required to three times a week. Senior: Enrolling at United States Sports Academy was the best decision I ever made. The staff and professors have been amazing and are always there for me if I need assistance or guidance. The fast track program has been very challenging but rewarding and I am looking forward to graduation in the spring.
