Sophomore: Yale has been a fun and enjoyable experience overall. I would definitely choose Yale again if I had to re-do my college application. Academics: some departments are better taught than other departments. Yale can be weaker in CS and Math compared to other universities, but most alums are still very successful. Like most colleges, there is a lot of independent learning and there are numerous resources to help you. The environment is not competitive unless premed. Social life: Yale has an AMAZING social life compared to other universities of equal caliber. There is always something going on and you can be as social as you want. Social life is nonexistent during midterm season. There are parties, frats, concerts, woads, club formals, and many other events. Sophomore: Having just finished my first year at Wesleyan I can definitely see why this place is so highly rated. By far my favorite thing about this place are the people I've met from professors to students to alumni. I just think this place attracts a type of person who is passionate and interesting and I think that's why I'm in college in the first place. For Brown Rejects: The university is expensive, and as you pay a flat rate and cannot switch classes around easily the experience can feel claustrophobic or rather limiting if you're among the MOST driven students; but O! to be in the middle 50 here; you will stumble into incredible classes with awesome professors and interesting students who will keep you engaged in the material and the work is manageable, club scene is a blast, music is great, alright nightlife, and great senior housing.... Sophomore: I truly believe there is a place for everyone at UConn. I know that everyone goes into college with different hopes and expectations, and UConn has so much to offer to achieve all of them. From academics, to social life, you’ll find whatever you look for at UConn. Sports fans have multiple events to look forward to during the week and there are constantly student organized events occurring across campus that make college life more enjoyable and exciting. The campus is quite large, and sometimes it may be a hike from class to class, however, the nature and the views along the way make it worth it. Junior: I am currently a Junior at Southern Connecticut State University, where I am studying Elementary Education as well as a Division II athlete on the Women's Lacrosse Team. Alum: I was an undergrad at Central as computer science major, got my BS in 2019. I had a great experience, both academically and socially. I had an internship right after graduation, but pandemic hit and did not get full-time. I got another job elsewhere as web programmer, working remote. I wanted to get a grad degree, so I enrolled in fall of 2021 in the Data Science master's program. I just graduated in May of 2023, and finished all my credits in July. I am writing this review because I just got a job in Boston, and wanted to show a success story and share my experiences at Central. I am grateful to Central, as I had amazing experiences, got my BS in computer science and MS in data science. The best value for my education. I felt like I owed it to Central to write this review. I was not the best student in high school or freshmen year at Central, but I got serious, worked hard and got my degrees. It has paid off, and I owe much less than my friends. Sophomore: It's great to hear about your positive experiences at Quinnipiac University as an African American male in a predominantly white institution (PWI). Building strong friendships with mixed people from different states and attending exciting events has undoubtedly enriched your college experience. It's wonderful to see that you've had a positive academic experience as well, finding the classes to be of good quality. It seems like the only area I believe could use some improvement is the club scene at Quinnipiac. Junior: I have had a fantastic experience at Fairfield university! I love the community here and how friendly everyone is. It is super easy to make friends in classes and during clubs and activities. It is really nice to be able to make meaningful connections with professors with the small class sizes and Fairfield guarantees an internship during your four years so that is a nice perk. Senior: Hi! I am an exercise science major and I can honestly say that the professors I have had are great. They have always been avaliable and super approachable. I was pretty anxious before going to college because I though professors would be mad and annoyed by students. But what I found out is that they love to help. Whether it be to see them during office hours about confusions during lectures, going over exams, and even to have a chat with other students. Even the professors I had for my pre-req classes were great, like philosophy, history, and first year writing seminars. I took summer classes and winter classes as well. Sophomore: I’m currently in my second semester of sophomore year and after completing all of my academic courses, I’m finally able to start working towards my illustration major and animation minor. In my freshman year alone, I’ve noticed just how much my art has improved! I’ve learned to pay attention to lighting in a 3D space and how to correct my proportions when it comes to drawing anatomy.
