Senior: I loved my experience with the University of Alabama at Birmingham so far! The campus is exhilarating, especially because it stretches over several blocks of Birmingham. There are "blue lights" on every block, making it a pretty safe campus. The dorms are nice, and so is the recreation center. The cafeteria always has good food, but there's also tons of restaurants around the city to choose from! This campus is probably the best in Alabama for diversity within the students. Other: I was just accepted to attend Samford, December 1st, and I am overly excited, as this is my 1st and top choice of schools. I am a Christian and the college represented everything I'm looking for in a college. The college is only 2 hours away from my primary home, which is great! I was very happy to learn about the fast track program the college offers, meaning I can get my masters degree in 5 years. Sophomore: When researching colleges I took it upon myself to do detailed research on every college in the United States where I could receive a valuable education, compete in my sport, and be a part of a family. I visited twelve colleges in eight states before I found Birmingham-Southern College. The thirteen-hour drive did not deter me from packing up my life in Texas and moving to the state of Alabama because I had fallen in love with the college and the state. I knew I had found a new home. On my campus, I am a tour guide, an athlete, an orientation leader, a tutor, a woman in stem, an honor society member and involved in Greek life. I do not participate in these activities for my resume. I participate in these activities because I love my community and my chosen family.
